Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
I suggest adding some on the arms. Also, the back rotation looks like she is a 16-years old girl or something. She is a Marine, she is supposed to have at least some strenght.

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
You should use Eriance's version as a guide to adjust the sprites. Maybe even use it as the front rotation.
The problem with Illucia is that originally she was a Poser model. Though it's adapted quite well to Doom, with its quirky aspect ratio and low-resolution, she still doesn't show the bulk that a person in a space marine suit should have.

I'll give it another try. The problem I was having was I couldn't figure out what Eriance did to get it like that. If he resized it I have no idea by how much or using what program. If someone could tell or show me that much I can redo this.

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
if you look carefully on your rotations, she looks like she is shrinking at each rotation... lol

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
Well if I made her the same size as her front frame she'd end up taller than doomguy in the back rotation. Doomguy actually gets smaller at each rotation. So I tried to keep the same ratio. Although it does look a little off.... But overall I think it looks okay. It's still in rather early works. But I think it looks fine.

Nice job so far. I think that her torso needs to be a bit wider when viewed from the 3/7 angle though. She looks stick-thin there.

yeah I was thinking something similar. I tried widening her out a little bit. But yeah I'll see what I can do. And thanks for the positive criticism. I enjoy feedback.Enjay wrote:Nice job so far. Edit: I adjusted the 3/7 rotation. So she's not as skinny.

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
I didn't use any program other than MS paint. I edited the original female sprite that was posted here. All i did was remove or add pixels where I thought would help emphasis the female shape within such a low-resolution sprite.
I think the biggest issue on your version is that your sprite's arms hand down vertical, this makes the person look squished and the arms too short. They should be slanted outwards for more natural appearance.

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
Thank you. ^^ I agree that the arms need a little bit of work. I will work on these sprites a bit more later when I have time. I have the first two walking rotations almost done. I've been a little busy lately but I should have time to work on these this weekend.Eriance wrote:I didn't use any program other than MS paint. Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
another problem is that for the front facing view, you used the helmet which I derived from the original doom marines byt pixel editing it to make it smaller and more proportional to that body. The other rotations, you used the normal doom marine's helmet, which is much larger relative to the body, making it look like she has a giant head. Making the helmet smaller will help with the proportions issues.

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
I have most of the walking frames done. Although I noticed something odd when I tried to animate the front frames. They're just minor errors. I'll post my progress when I've worked out the bugs I've already noticed.

Re: [Sprite] Female Marine
Well I managed to finish all the walking frames. I tried to get them to animate as well as I could but I think they could still be touched up a bit. If anyone wants to edit these a bit to get them animated right please help. I will continue working on the rest of the frames.

I consider the gradient green bar is for recoloring?
