For those of you who noticed this was gone - I am sorry - it is back now! (And all the old files are still there)

Once again, I must say DRD File Sharing is so much epically better than Rapidshare, so use it to share your ZDoom mods!

Are the contents of ZIP files monitored as well? Just so that I can upload randomly named ZIPs that indeed contain WAD files, without needing to write a description too.Eruanna wrote: (Please be aware that uploads are regularly monitored - anything illegal will get you banned)

If you actually have to ask that, I'm willing to bet they're going to now.

Just asking this sounds really shady.printz wrote: Are the contents of ZIP files monitored as well? Just so that I can upload randomly named ZIPs that indeed contain WAD files, without needing to write a description too.

On that note, I don't think there's anything stopping anyone from renaming DOOM.WAD to CUPCAKE.WAD and putting it in FETUS.ZIP. Not that I condone such behavior, but if anything is done on the server side to check against piracy, it's probably best to look at the checksum of the wads involved. If the IWAD is modified to change the checksum, whoever's doing the pirate downloads is automatically at a loss because They're getting a bad product.

The checking is all manually done by our file sharing moderators. So good luck sneaking that warezed copy of Duke 3D past 'em. =P

This was down for a while due to a PHP wizard not appearing, right? Have many people noticed that it is now back up again? Is it up again for good, or is it only temporary? Why is the site host not very lenient with correspondence on this matter? Why do all of these questions need asking?

Hopefully. If anything doesn't work, or spouts ugly warning messages, please notify Eruanna or me.Zhs2 wrote:Is it up again for good

Re: DRD Team File Sharing (Better than Rapidshare!)
Can anybody change the "file is too large" error message to instead say "you need to register an account first"? It's lead to confusion to some users who legitimately believe that their file is too large for the service.

Re: DRD Team File Sharing (Better than Rapidshare!)
There is a way to do that, but you have to be admin because it involves editing group rights. Turn off "Can Upload Using Flash" and "Can Upload Using URLs" for free users. Then when you go to the home page without being logged in, instead of the standard "Browse" and upload queue thing, you'll see a box telling you that "You are currently not allowed to upload local files. Please to gain access." (it may be just my localhost installation, but something is missing from that sentence, by the way).

Just so you know, the "site host" is Eruanna (and maybe Gez?). If there are any problems in the future, you should contact her.Zhs2 wrote:Why is the site host not very lenient with correspondence on this matter?
(And I must say, being your own administrator sure beats dealing with shared hosting.)

No, it's just Eruanna. I merely helped track down and fix the precise file responsible for a ugly warning message that was plastered on all pages and the reason why this part of the site had been taken offline after a PHP upgrade.

Re: DRD Team File Sharing (Better than Rapidshare!)
The main problem here was that, despite the fact that most people knew that said filehost was down for however long, there was little to no announcement that the service was back online, regardless of who owns or maintains drdteam. I'm not quite sure if people didn't get around to saying "Oh, this is back up" or I just noticed it was back up spur of the moment and people were going to announce it anyway, but given there's no official update on the main drdteam page...randy wrote:Just so you know, the "site host" is Eruanna (and maybe Gez?). It's so much better than the evil ad-populated and slow Mediafire
