Re: [Project] Obscure FPS Resources
I did a bit of sleuthing, and this is what I found. There were actually several attempts at a Hellraiser game it seems, and these ones aren't from the Wolf3D edition. See bottom of page (there are also some samples from the Wolf3D attempt as well, but the quality on those is not great (it is Wolf3D era stuff, after all.)

I wonder why some frames have different resolutions than others?Ceeb wrote:http://www.mediafire.com/file/26xnu4niv ... oedguns.7z WeaponsSnarboo wrote:I'd like the PO'ed weapons. A few of those were pretty cool.

Damned if I know. It only seems to the one frame of the power drill that does that.Ben2k9 wrote:I wonder why some frames have different resolutions than others?

Re: [Project] Obscure FPS Resources
Apparently, the resources to an obscure DOS game called Rex Blade are all just sitting there in the main folder. The graphics are simple PCX files, the sounds are WAV and the music are MID. I'll upload a resource pack soon.

*looks at cd* ...Odd, I have that game for some reason. Well, it'd be interesting to look through nonetheless.Snarboo wrote:Apparently, the resources to an obscure DOS game called Rex Blade are all just sitting there in the main folder. It's not a great game but it is playable. Unfortunately the resources are a bit crap, but hopefully someone finds a use for them.

Re: [Project] Obscure FPS Resources
You know, I stumbled across some old Dracula FPS on some abandonware sites like NAME AND ADDRESS WITHHELD but didn't look into it too much. Looked like it may have had some halfway decent textures.
There's also a ridiculous edutainment FPS called I.M. Meen which a guy I used to chat with was working on cracking open.
Also, Meen is some kind of pedophile, apparently.

If it's the same Dracula game I'm thinking of (this one? http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/bram- ... creenshots ) I'd quite like to see its stuff.Ceeb wrote:You know, I stumbled across some old Dracula FPS on some abandonware sites like NAME AND ADDRESS WITHHELD but didn't look into it too much. Heh, I remember that from the "A visit to id in 1993" video that john romero released a while back.

IM Meen is actually pretty playable and a classic if only for the batshit animation brought to you by the creators of CD-I Zelda.

Already tried to get stuff from that one a while back but it appears that all the resources there are compressed in some way.

Re: [Project] Obscure FPS Resources
I remember a Doomworld discussion about it wondering if they used the Shadowcaster engine. The technology used seemed very similar.Ceeb wrote:There's also a ridiculous edutainment FPS called I.M. Meen which a guy I used to chat with was working on cracking open.

Re: [Project] Obscure FPS Resources
Do the sprites in Shadowcaster use some form of compression? If so, I'd give I.M. Meen a shot, because I remember a guy on Xentax was trying to rip from I.M. Meen but the sprites were using some oddball compression that he couldn't figure out.
