Re: - Legacy Of Suffering -
Finally finished the game. I played the last level late at night with my only light source being my computer monitor. The atmosphere it achieved was tremendously great and spine chilling. I consider it one of the finest moments of wad making.
Plus, I loved the fancy torch light effects! (this is the first wad I've played where they've been used)

I'm almost sure (99,99%) that TUTNT was the first wad to make use of keksdose's Enhanced Tourchs.

Just finished playing it (I think) and I must say, a most IMPRESSIVE project; especially the use of detail and most especially the used of 3D floors. Kudos to you; most deserving of the golden hissy award.

This mod was absolutely brilliant. Nothing more to add to what's already been said. Great job, Logan!

Re: - Legacy Of Suffering -
can anyone give me a hint as i'm a bit stuck on the teleporter level:
i got the device for the teleporter far behind the blue doors, but i can't seem to figure out what to do with it, as one of the consoles says i have to find the piece, while the other (where the blue key was) does nothing when i press use.
awesome mod btw, if not a bit too hard on ammo/hordes-of-hitscanners sometimes
edit: nvm, found the other piece by accident, hidden away behind the other, out of the way blue door, after running around in the empty level like crazy, for like 30 more minutes or so
that black laptop here has incredibly small text on it's screen, i had to crouch over it in 1280x800 to read it lol.
back to playing

Thank you for playing and comment.
The Map1 said "Press F1" and the F1 screen said "Z to Zoom".

Feel free to register an account on the wiki and start a [wiki]Legacy of Suffering[/wiki] article. I'd welcome it; I'd like it if all the (G)ZDoom cacowards had one.
As you can see, [wiki=Category talk:Cacoward Winner]there are quite a lot[/wiki] that are still missing an article.

I figured it out. You don't edit that page. It is autogenerated from pages in a certain category. You did not have any categories for LoS listed. I added them to the bottom of the LoS page and it seems to have worked.

Re: - Legacy Of Suffering -
AWRIGHT. I just beat this in one sitting on Ultra-Violent (I died many a time) and I have comments.
First of all, congratulations on making a Doom mod that made me feel like I was playing a better version of Doom 3. The design and atmosphere was spot-on in relation to Doom 3, yet it still managed to involve the balls-to-the-wall holy-shit-theres-like-1000-enemies-out-of-nowhere feel of the old Doom games. The more clever and unique nature of the weapons was nice too, since it was more than just "original weapons with nicer graphics." I'd say the rocket chaingun was pure win, and it's a fun shout-out to Painkiller.
I smiled at the final boss fight when it started playing the Sonic Clang version of E1M8 from Classic Doom 3. Also, in general the application of rock/metal was quite welcome, and hearkened back to Quake II in the way it would play during intense times, and then switch to something more ambient when the most recent hoard of creatures had been dealt with. And I always felt Doom 3 kinda failed musically when it had such musically excellent predecessors (Quake IV was kinda lame in that department too, if I remember correctly), so it was nice to see some good music at all.
So, thank you for giving me some great run-and-gun FPS action with all the stylistic elements I wish modern big-name FPSs had more often.
