Yeah, the video was done with the character pretty much having everything in the inventory. I dunno if Xaser will silence me for this but... I'm glad to say the shotguns will not dominate this weapon mod. It's about time, too!
Anyway, I dumped a little bit of stuff for them to tidy up, dunno if that'll delay the project or not but I think it'll help new players in the long run.

Well the shotgun in the video worked awesomely, and will probably still hold it's own compared to the other weapons.
I think the reason that shotguns tend to outshine most other weapons in Doom is it's practical uses, like easily forcing enemies into a pain state and doing a hefty amount of damage without any risk to the user, and ripping through weak enemies a lot faster than most other rapid fire hitscan weapons. Sure, Doom's Rocket Launcher can do roughly the same amount of damage as the Super Shotgun, but you risk hurting yourself in the process.
So I think it's good to hear that the shotguns won't be the best weapons, because: It confirms more than one shotgun, and there should be a reason to use other weapons in more situations.
Psychic can't come out soon enough.

The psychic abilities are really the meat and potatoes of the mod. The weapons provide support mainly, and while some of them are strong, they pale in comparison to some of the abilities you can get and upgrade.

I'm partial to ice myself. Cheap to buy and upgrade, plus it fires out in a large, shotgun style spread. It's also funny to watch cacos plummet after freezing them. Earth is another favorite, given it can pierce multiple enemies and the powered up form makes for nice overkill. Fire is great for narrow hallways, though.
