I'm actually working on medic marine, but it can go to my projects instead to here.Xenaero wrote:I might do a Medic Marine sometime soon, let me know if you'd like it in your pack, and I could send you the sprites to look over.

Thanks Xenaero, I'll use those frames for the SSG dude, and give you credit. As for the medic marine, I'll either use whoever makes me one first, or I'll make my own. I don't think I'll need the orange shooting BFGs though, since the gun clearly shoots green, when using it.

I hear ya. Just looks a little funky if used for a player skin. Overall tho, these rule.Xim wrote:Thanks Xenaero, I'll use those frames for the SSG dude, and give you credit. Hmm, yeah this is a good point. What might actually be more useful, is a different armour colour, that could be the re-map colour for the skin. Or can that even be done? I'm sure they did it for a few skulltag skins that a different remap colour other than green.

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
You have to define a custom player class for that.

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
I didn't make the punching sprite myself. But I agree it needs work, I just can't be bothered to fix it right now, if you wanna finish it, I'll put it in.
What's not working for you btw? Or does the WAD crash the game?
If the problem is you can't get the item, you just have to give yourself an item called HELPERMARINE, the max you can hold is 25. Then just use the item. Make sure you've got a decent amount of space, or he won't be able to teleport in .

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
For player skin variants, you could define a new player class, like Woolie Wool said, and use "Player.ColorRange" for a different range other than greens that aren't used anywhere else on the sprites, which is a difficult task in itself. :/ Using blue would be my first choice but that would screw up the railgun and plasma marines.Xim wrote:Hmm, yeah this is a good point. EDIT: Actually, you could use the blue range. The player object itself doesn't go into the F frames when firing the plasma rifle or railgun, so it looks like it'd be safe to use for the most part. The only problem then would be the little blue bits on the weapon he's holding (Only the Railgun would be affected I believe).

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
Nice sprites!!!
I also found out the Chainsaw dude's arms don't match in shading, so I'll prolly do some edits of those. Also, I'm prolly not gonna make a true medic marine, just customize the Unmaker Marine's armor and use his gun as a revival thingy or something. I don't know. But yes it rules anyway!

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
I was thinking of making a medic marine with a medical back-pack, and when he heals, he'll crouch down and take a needle thingy or something out of back-pack and inject it into a fallen marine.

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
That was my original idea, but I lack the proper sprite editing skills to successfully pull off a crouching/kneeling marine so I was gonna just piggyback on the alien technology thing. ;D That would be interesting to see though! I know I'd use it!Xim wrote:I was thinking of making a medic marine with a medical back-pack, and when he heals, he'll crouch down and take a needle thingy or something out of back-pack and inject it into a fallen marine.
I'm interested to try to make player skins using a different color scheme though, that I'll have to look into to see what's possible.

Re: Helper Marine [Release]
Hmm, I know there is that rotating backpack sprite from KDiZD, I could use, but I don't wanna re-download the whole mod just to get it. Is there a separate wad with all the rotating items?
