Eh, guess I won't make a few arcade things then...
Whelp, not my cup-a-tea.
If the timer can't be disabled, I can't use it to work out my ideas.

Is it the [wiki=Class:Wizard]Disciple[/wiki], the Apprentice, or some other thing?

It would be possible to disable the timer with a console var, but I would need to make a lot of checks with it in the source-code to do it properly. I may consider it in a future release.

@Gez - I did mean Apprentice of D'Sparil. You know, the one wizard that turns invisible sometimes then proceeding to fire at you while you can't hit him back at that state.

@Bilbohicks - If you're planning to release a new version sometime, I got a suggestion: Would you add a powerup that temporarily doubles the player's firing speed? I believe it would certainly make the two shotguns more useful during the powerup.

Yeah, I wasn't really suggesting you host it anywhere else (though perhaps the DRD team file host service is an option for you?).

Filefront does work it's just that where I work has an overly paranoid filtering system to stop people... well, pretty much to stop people using the internet it would seem. So, I'll have to grab the files from home and that takes forever because of my slow connection.

Gotya. I worked at a place similar to that once.

Maybe because (in their minds) you're a total moron who lacks the common sense to not flood their computer with teh nasty viruses an stuffs? (Or it's just a policy and nothing personal. I.E. They have to assume you are a total moron.)

I just finished the first episode of 2002 A Doomed Odyssey episode 1, and holy crap was that boss rush at the end hard. (I died about 10-12 times before I finally beat it.)

Heh, I hope it's the second, but I can't be sure. :ninja:

Actually, it's just a hideously primitive blunt tool of a filter that the local council has installed in all of their schools. It blocks anything on a blacklist, and the blacklist seems to include, without question, any website that anyone may have complained about ever (and you know how ridiculous and prudish some teachers can be) and also has arbitrary policies like "anything to do with mobile phones - ban, anything to do with drugs - ban, any mention of any part of the body - ban, any file host - ban, any picture host - ban, any social network - ban...". It also has a primitive search system that looks for "offensive" words and blocks the site accordingly. eg, for a while it was impossible to get on to the "New Scientist" website because they were running a front page story about Mary J and the filter decided that the site must be bad as a result. Makes teaching physics (where there is a unit on mobile phones) or biology, or drugs awareness almost impossible or just getting files (even though there is also a protocol in place that prevents execution of any unauthorised exe files) or viewing pictures people have posted on course-relevant message boards, or finding relevant videos on YouTube because they must all be bad - right?

Of course, all the kids can get around it using a proxy but the staff can't because we can't be seen to be breaking the rules and circumventing the system.

On the face of it, the filter is presumably there to "protect" kids using the Internet rather than, say, removing the filters and educating them about proper and appropriate use of the Internet instead (and then removing the access rights of those who abuse it). However, I suspect that it is PR as much as anything. If ever questioned, they can say "we have a filtering system in place to protect the kids" and all the computer illiterate technophobes in society will walk away happy that things have been taken care of.

How was E4M8? I had a go with E2M8 from a pistol start. It was hard but doable.

I haven't reached E4M8 yet. By the way, it turns out that I got the V2 version of 2002ado, not that fixed version as it wasn't on filefront last time I checked.

Yeah that sucks. If you have a PC at home, you can use it as a proxy, and use an SSH client on your work computer to tunnel everything over port 80 or 443 (ssl) to that IP that you are using. It might be a little slower, depending on your home connection, but it might be worth it. SSH tunneling is a godsend in those situations. openssh is a good windows client.

Sometime tonight, I'll try to take down Vengeance and Wonderful Doom.

Edit: I know E1M8's gonna be very tough, too.

Have you tried contacting Eruanna? She might host it. She's hosting GZDoom, Risen3D, and Skulltag after all; and last time I checked she was looking for more things to put on her new server.

Sure, I dont see the harm in having other places to host it.
