After female robotic voice sounds
For Ghouls vs Humans I'm giving human classes different sounds if they're female. The one I'm stuck on is the cyborg, cause I can't think of a game off the top of my head that has enough sounds for it. GlaDos is the only thing off the top of my head but that is a complete last resort because EVERYONE knows what she sounds like/who she is.
One that I'd LIKE to get is the robobrain sounds from Fallout 3. I don't have the PC version though, so if anyone can rip them that would be fantastic. If not, could you point me in the direction of where I could acquire other female robot voices?

Re: After female robotic voice sounds
If I need a synthetic voice for something, I usually try one of those web-based auto voice generator thingys. I've got a couple bookmarked at home so I can post links when I get home. Sometimes they work "as is" and sometimes they need to be run through a filter to make them more mechanical. Not sure how they would be for pain (etc) sounds but they can work quite well for words.

I run a copy of FLStudio as part of my music rig - it has a very usable speech synthesis module that can easily produce a female robotic voice from typed text. If you could list exactly the sounds you require, I can have a look at them when I get home this evening (assuming you haven't already got it sorted by then).

In StarCraft the Terran faction uses a female cyborg thingy to do a lot of the talking while you're base building, when your base is under attack etc., as well as in the mission briefings. Possibly you could cut out short pieces of her many lines and use them.

If you have StarCraft you should be able to rip the sounds from the MPQ files with an MPQ Viewer. Or perhaps I could, I have both StarCraft and Brood War. I could put up a sample when I get home so you can decide whether the voice suits your needs.

Well any of those sound good, but I do need pain sounds and I'm not sure if those voice generator thingymabobs can produce reasonable ones, although shoving regular human sounds through a filter might help.
If all three of you can produce a sample at some point that would be tubular. Btw did anyone here ever have soundprobe?

@Cutman: actually I'm not going to be at my computer tonight, so I'll have to leave it. If you can get decent results from the other suggestions you should go with them. Sorry about that!
Re: After female robotic voice sounds
I think an atonal, mechanical, emotionless "ouch" for a robot pain sound would be perfect.

Here's a small sample of the Terran cyborg woman:

I don't think she has any actual pain sounds, however, so unless you want her to say stuff when in pain, such as "Unacceptable" or "Not enough energy" and similar stuff, she might not be of much use to you.

Here are the two web-based voice synthesisers that I was talking about.

Hmm. Cyborg. Granted that they're armored, I'm not sure if gender-specific sounds will be necessary at all.

Okay I need some kind of sound morphing tool to make them sound a bit robotic. Soundprobe doesn't work anymore for some reason, anyone got any alternatives?

Could edit some player sounds from Quake 3?
Re: After female robotic voice sounds
Would this be closer to what you want?
If so, I can extract clips from the game's audio files and send them to you.

That might just do the trick. Can you rip em for me bub?

I usually use Audacity or GoldWave to mess around with sound files.Cutmanmike wrote:Okay I need some kind of sound morphing tool to make them sound a bit robotic. Soundprobe doesn't work anymore for some reason, anyone got any alternatives?
