Slumped and offsets

Post by Ichor »

I'm trying to use Slumped to offset my sprites, but for some reason, it doesn't want to cooperate. Oh sure, I can offset sprites all day and save the wadfile, but once I try it in Doom, no change. And when I load the wad in Slumped again, all of the offsets are reset. I know it's possible to do it, but I have no idea how.

Are you pressing that "Save Changes" button?

So, anyone know?

I did a bit of searching, and it turns out that I'm not the only one with this problem.

Are you setting the offset type before making changes? The default offset type is "None", and while it will let you make changes in that mode (which is a bug, really), it won't actually save the values you enter. You need to change the type to "Normal" or "Hud/Weapon" first. ("Normal" should be used for anything that isn't drawn directly to the HUD)

Yeah, I tried all of that. However, I did finally manage to figure out how to do it. I converted all of the sprites to flats, applied the offsets, then converted them back.

You shouldn't have to do it that way. :? SlumpEd is perfectly fine with letting me drag my sprites and it saves the offsets.

A little tip, which I would've liked to know, you can select a bunch of sprites and right click, and there's an option to automatically auto-offset them.

I know. It should have been as simple to align the sprites as with XWE, but what do you know? It wasn't. At least that worked. I was getting highly frustrated because I have been working on something for a couple of weeks, only to get stopped by something like this. Oh well, it's done anyway.
