How about "The Living End"? That way we get a DooM II reference, too!

Maybe Nash doesn't want the mod associated with DooM.Big C wrote:How about "The Living End"? That way we get a DooM II reference, too!

How about something creatively redundant?
"This is a Zombie game!" comes to mind, though it's not very clever.

Dead Death was already suggested.Peanut wrote:How about something creatively redundant?

Hmm, very interesting. I voted for "GZDead." But of all of the possible names to think of, why these? Anyway, GZDead seems to make more sense, "Dead end" is alright I suppose. "Dead end" just doesn't seem to sit very well with me, Does the name really have to have the word "dead" in it?
Really? is that really necessary?Nash wrote:

Ha, yes I know. but I meant actually including the nudity in the photograph. Why would there be "nude" zombies anyway?Nash wrote:I'm just being safe!

Base meshes need to be unclothed and bald, it doesn't make sense to model them clothed because they only serve as templates for the actual zombie variations.

As for the name, I liked Dead Cell, but IIRC that was the name of the "terrorist" group in MGS2.

Should the zombies be truly undead, and the only way to kill one is to shoot/destroy the head? Will this be annoying?
Also, I may need to decide to scrap the idea of allowing each individual body part of the zombie to be destroyed... it involves multi-part actors and things can get very difficult to manage for both me and my artist...

Re: Rise of the Dead! [27/10/11 poll]
If you can figure out general dismemberment (shoot off the legs, they drag with their arms and bite your shins) it could work. Though for simplicity I'd simply recommend making the head an amplified-damage target - A single pistol (or other similar "weak" weapon) can still be sufficiently effective, while shotguns and other area-damage weapons will be more suited to crowd control (or really souped-up zombies).Nash wrote:Should the zombies be truly undead, and the only way to kill one is to shoot/destroy the head? Well-done headshot systems help balance out the weapon set, but obviously if done wrongly there's no reason to change weapos unless you run out of ammo. (Making it an auto-kill from any amount of damage is a bad idea, for instance. A single punch to the face might send them reeling. If a pistol feels sufficiently powerful it could take them in one headshot, otherwise two.)
As for the original question, I don't think destroying the head shoudl be required. Though I do recommend having zombies fall down faux dead, only to get up later, if they have only a few HP left.
