[CONTRIBUTIONS] The Community Beastiary (on hold!)

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

if you don't think sprites from the DukeBeta don't fit in Doom then why do you have a monster in there with duke sprites? I don't get that. :?

Name: Death Elemental
Difficulty:Medium
Melee: No
Distance: Projectile/Spawn
Type: Demon
Summon: deathelemental

A stronger form of Pain Elemental. This foul demon has the abiltiy to shoot balls of ethereal energy at those who are unfortunate enough to encounter it. It is also capable of summoning Lost Souls to help defeat its foes. Upon death, this enemy releases six Lost Souls from its body as a last attempt to defeat its foes. You should feel lucky if you encounter one alone, as a group can overwhelm its foes within minutes.

Quite simple, one of the duke sprite monsters are aliens and others are sprite edits of vehicles. What has this to do with the DukeBeta sprites? Quite simple: They are humans. And why is that a problem? Compare the DukeBeta human sprites with the Doomguy and you will see that the proportions are totally different. That's the reason.

If I may remind everyone, the title of this thread says 'no discussion here', so please take it to the other thread.

Name: Surreal Demon

Difficulty: Hard/Very Hard (unsure)

Melee: No

Distance: Projectile/Tracer/Poison/Resurrect

Type: Demon

Summon: surrealdemon

The Surreal Demon is a real nasty piece of work. One of the many Barons it chews on as a snack can confirm THAT. It has transcended the regular boring existence of a Cacodemon. Somehow, somewhere, it learned the art of Resurrection. After it has wreaked mondo havic, pandemonium, destruction etc. it can revive its fellows from the grave. It fires either three bursts of homing energy that can follow you until Doomsday or five gaseous bursts of poisonous gas coupled with a multitude of super-sonic energy bursts. Talk about bad breath! Finally, it is translucent to a certain degree.

UPDATE: Changed .zip to fix some errors in WAD.

Name: Hellfire Soul

Difficulty: Hard

Melee: Charge

Distance: Projectile/Tracer/Spawn

Type: Spirit

Summon: hellfiresoul

The Hellfire Soul is a powerful entity, to be sure. It is fast, it can fly toward you, take your soul, and use a seeking projectile that mushrooms out into more projectiles. You better hope you can kill this guy quickly. Which, of course, you can't. It has trained itself to be resistant to bullet and energy damage (or at least NORMAL type damage), so you'll have a tough time trying to get him off your back. While he is not quite as powerful as the Surreal Demon, he's still strong.

Name: Knight Archer
Difficulty: Easy / Medium
Melee: No
Distance: Projectile
Type: Human / SemiHuman / Magical
Summon: KnightArcher

Hailing from the world of HeXen 2, This variant of Knight Archer is best used in cold environments. When I do recolors, you'll also get the standard, green type and the Archer Lords(gold). Alone they're relatively easy, save for their projectile speed, but in groups they can give the player real trouble. Can be used in any game - DooM, DooM 2, Final DooM, Heretic or HeXen. Comes in a pre-made HeXen level so just load and play.

There's a ZDoom forum attachment at the bottom of the post (for something that sticks out like a sore thumb, it's easy to miss. I missed it, too, initially XD)
