Captain Ventris wrote:Actually, the enemies didn't change height at all, it was purely visual.

But you might be able to manage it with morph classes if you really wanted to. Then you could have a pain state while in crouched form. That is, if you can keep the monster's current health when morphing.
actually you can, and its the original behaviour i think. but can be changed via a flag.

That might be able to work, and would probably work better than simply compromising between the height of the crouched and standing version. However, I'm haven't heard how well morph classes work with monsters (I assume A_GiveInventory a powerup that morphs it into the other type of monster would work), and I'm shooting for Skulltag 97d3 support.

I'll keep a slightly lower-height version using inventory checks for Skulltag compatibility, and once 97e is finished, I'll ditch that in favour of the morphing one.

@Ghastly: I was checkin' out Page 2 of this thread, and noticed that you posted a beta of teh Guardian earlier on. Did this beta include new sprites? Do you still have it?

Doesn't have any sprites (resized, recolored baron), and it was amazingly buggy. It took me a few days to write, though, so I certainly didn't delete it, lol.

If you want it, I'll PM it over.

Nah, it's cool. A recolored Baron doesn't seem very appealing...

BTW, the Seekers look awesome! What base was used?

Well,there's multiple resources I used.
The tail was from Eriance's Wicked and brains were taken from Arachnotron.
All other was by myself. :)

Wow, looks amazing, but the style more fits a Sonic the Hedgehog game than Doom. But seriously, that is probably one of the best from-scratch sprites in that style I've ever seen. :o

@Poot: I love you (no, not like that)! That HK is so friggin' awesome! He looks really good, but not very Doom-ish. It looks like it would be more suitable for some other project, unless the issues below are addressed :ugeek: .

@Ghastly & Everyone else: Dude, it's amazing :shock: !
All it needs is some shading. Also, more colors would really help. Right now, that sprite is mostly just contour lines. We need to create the image not with lines, but with shading (for depth). Now, it's kinda 2D-ish.
I think we could brighten up those dark contours and use shading to show the muscle structure. That'd be good...
The blood on the face could also be blended in more with the skin on the edges (again, with more colors). Claws should also be put in.
