Re: Site move in progress
Time for a rant:
I am really, *really* starting to hate the new forum software. The only skin that is tolerable to me is the 'classic' subsilver2 but with this skin all the enhanced functionality is disabled!
I find all the other skins with the user info on the right intolerable. The design looks cluttered, information can't be found in the places where it should be and the structuring is simply awful. I find it a real pain to get the needed information with the shitty layout but in order to moderate the Bugs forum I have to bother with it because with subSilver2 active I can't tag threads!

Re: Site move in progress
May I also add that with all other skins, other then subsilver2, I'm forced to sometimes refresh because the layout screws up and thus look horrible.
I agree with Graf Zahl. We are forced to use an old skin that loses compatiblilty, compared to the new skins that are buggy.

I'm already halfway used to the new format and I don't see the problem, but maybe somebody can go looking for an alternate phpBB3 theme that randy can add to the site which satisfies the conditions some people are looking for.
*cough*instead of just incessantly complaining about it*cough*

So, it's what..... 25 to 1, Zippy?
Give it a rest, please. You've said your piece more than once.

No offense Zippy but you're pretty much the only one who's not complaining.

I hope Randy disables the use of excessively small text as per the previous forum.Zippy wrote:*cough*instead of just incessantly complaining about it*cough*
One thing that is worth noting - I don't know if it's the forum software or the new host (I suspect the latter) but the site is lightning-fast for me. The old site was slow, sometimes very slow. It was the slowest site that I regularly visited. The skeleton of the forum page would load and it could then take quite a number of seconds before all the forum icons etc appeared. The smilies in the reply dialogue took ages too. Now it all appears as quickly as any other site that I visit.

I'm not complaining, but I'm not going to counter your complaints, they seem understandable to me.Nash wrote:No offense Zippy but you're pretty much the only one who's not complaining.
I only hope that if the default theme gets changed that this one is kept as an alternate theme seeing as some people like it.

Agreed. This new site is much faster.Enjay wrote:One thing that is worth noting - I don't know if it's the forum software or the new host (I suspect the latter) but the site is lightning-fast for me. Yeah, I think we're hitting the peak point here, which is exactly why I'm saying "Why doesn't somebody go out and find a phpBB3 theme that they like and present it randy so he can add it to the forum?" That would seem to solve most everyone's problems, and would do so in a much more convenient fashion for our gracious host.

Not for me.
The old one already was slow - but now it's even worse! Each request takes ca. 5 seconds until I get a response.
