Thompson SMGs were generally more square. Also, the muzzleflash looks rather... off.

Can you find a real one Thompson? Real steel is better, but you can get a model, or just toy.
If you can take a photo in this manner, it will be good basement of your sprite and give you understanding of form.

The outlines seem a bit too strong for Doom's style, but it does look cool.
