Hum... Looks more like a skull of an juvenile Alien queen using jewelry.
Would be good for use in 'scare scripts' a la Ghoul's Forest

Could be used as a Hexen/Heretic texture or whatever

I know the guy who made that. He is quite picky about copyright issues.Real_Capt_Proof wrote:I ran across this and I immediately thought it would make a good addition to the lineup.I hate that I suck at sprite editing or I would do it myself

I can try to ask if we can use it as a design for monster. But I doubt he would let you use it as a texture.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
You don't have to use the exact design for this. Unless he owns the copyright to the Aliens design as well, you can just use the Alien queen for "inspiration". As for the Aztec jewelery, simply switch it to that or another culture (maybe egyptian) and change the relative locations. All artists take ideas from other artists before and after them, no one artist can claim to be "original" in the full sense. Of course, outright copying them is frowned upon.

It's pretty clear the Alien (some form of it at least) was an influence. That's a Sideshow 1:1 Alien Warrior bust (Ravick wrote:Hum... Looks more like a skull of an juvenile Alien queen using jewelry.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
This concept was originally meant to be the boss of DE-EP4. I named it "Enormus", and it had similar attacks to the Mancubus, only on a far larger scale. Sadly, given the amount of time to sprite even a single frame, this design will never get completed (that and episode 4 has been thrown out). Still, a man can dream...a man can dream.
(Cybie for scale)
Until I can learn to animate 3D sculpture, DE is stuck as soon as soon I decide to start spriting the boss monsters. Even with the new method I currently use, which proved to cut down spriting difficulty, it still takes far too long to make a Cybie-size monster by hand-drawing. Attempting the Enormus has shown me that quite clearly.

Such a shame neither that monster nor Episode 4 will see the light of day. Still looks very awesome, though.

Wow, that looks freaking awesome Eriance! I love the face in particular.

Although the modelling process itself is quite an enormous task, it should be pretty easy to make decent sprites from it once it's all set up. I'm still unsure about the materials to use... I have some decent clay around, but I haven't been able to produce a good looking completed figure from it yet.
Either way, I'm curious what you'll come up with in the future
Yeah, I know what you're talking about... I recently started to think about trying to make real models and use them as a base for sprites too. I have been trying some 3d modelling programs in the past, but to me they seem overly complicated and hard to use, so I'll propably end up making RL models some dayEriance wrote: Until I can learn to animate 3D sculpture, DE is stuck as soon as soon I decide to start spriting the boss monsters.
