DeeDeeOZ wrote:Hope this might peak someones interest, doom style Civilians (made from MARS3d mostly) made these for old mod of mine (which i probably wont ever release) where you play as a imp and take on the UAC. civs, doctors and suits, also cop. have full sprites for all done currently only have 4 rotations (but have rest on sheets so could do rest if some one pokes me enough) also have shock/pain state and death/dying sprites, made (badly) from scratch as originals had none. know there is currently severe shortage of these..

also MARS3d scale is slightly larger then regular Doom2 so need to be scaled to 0.9 to fit in with regular stuff.
DoomMARScivs.PNG
could release as pack in resources if anyone show interest.

also some silly stuff from Mod for Giggles
ZIMPodds.PNG
Release it!
I have interest! :D /

Recently I repaired my chainsaw and decided it was a good opportunity to take pics and turn 'em into sprites.
So far this is the first test, didn't have much time to work on it, but it's looking nice I think?

that does seem to be an unusually stylish chain saw.

the one without a gun still looks like he wants to be carrying something, at least in the front-facing view, such as large shopping bags or pumpkins.

The detail and the shading on this one's super amazing. That's one neat shading!! You know, the result can be amazing if you know how to edit it, besides the quality.

many thanks! was my first ""real"" foray into animating/spriting something from start to finish for doom, here's a video of the animations in use (direct link to .mp4, btw)
spritework of the pistol itself was digitized by me, the magazine is a photo i got from google images that i edited heavily, n the arms are just various taken from an old and massive arm sheet i found a while ago (with the odd franken-sprite arm created for specific poses here and there)

now i just need to make unique pistol magazine sprites/actors because im re-using the rifle magazine actors for a 9mm pistol... :blergh:

the shading is certainly more elaborate! However the contrast seems lacking compared to the previous version. Sometimes if the shading is too smooth details risk getting lost in it. The positioning of the head also suddenly seems odd, at least to me, possibly because the shoulders are going up higher, unless the guy is just more muscular.

I might do it more like this, though it still looks a tad off. I have not looked at any of the original sprites up close in a while to confirm what should go where.
