Maybe changing the skin color to a dark green and the tentacle to red could be betterKinsie wrote:I tried to do a sprite of the Chaingunner from Doom 3. It turned out really poorly.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I honestly think it looks good as is, although the buckle could use a color change.
If you're going to change the skin tone and what not, I would suggest just going with the original Chain Gunner's skin tone.
Something that would also be a nice touch: Some blood on the mouth like the original Doom, and maybe some blood on the tentacle.

Hey, that's a cool cyborg! Have you made a Decorate actor out of it too?Graaicko wrote:Does not look like a colt. the top line or rail thats flush with the sights makes it either look like a PPK or hell, closer to a SP-01 Shadow actually.Captain J wrote:Eyup, definitely colt. Anyways. heres a new enemy I created. Uses a prototype flame weapon that shoots fireballs at a distance (Mancubus). Has full rotations and a new death animation by David G.

Tried to make a persian warrior. It was inspired by the DOS game Prince of Persia.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Hello everybody, some time ago I tried to make a weapon (one sprite), everything went as expected... until I down-scaled it.
When I down-scale it, it becomes a pixel mess, it loses virtually every detail, it just seems a pixel puke:

Heck, tried almost everything to modify his contrast and definition to be more alike original weapons but I just can't make it resemble a proper weapon.
So I'm leaving it here in case someone knows and wants to enlighten me.
About his strange form: It's supposed to be a radioactive gun, in short terms is a piercing medium-range weapon, I'm not entirely sure about his fire-rate but possibly it is fast like the plasma gun. It is a supposed weapon for my personal mod.

<Full resolution here>
(I also have the psd file, but weights 400 Mb and it's somewhat chaotic since has many layers.)
Next time I'm thinking about working full low-res so I won't need to resize anything.
(You can use those resources personally as long as you make a reference to me.)

I seriously have no idea what resize method you're using there, but its clearly not set right at all. I would highly recommend working at a lower resolution, though, since that gives you more control over what details end up in the final doom-sized image.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
In order to get it to Doom's resolution, roughly matching the BFG9000, it would have to be scaled to 6% by 5%. That means that what were once 20px details are now 1px. Also, whatever you did to make it look like a comic book isn't working.

Just sharpened it a little with a radius of 20px, scaled it to down with bilinear, and boosted the saturation a little for the greens. Could use more local contrast for details and straightening of the centre line, maybe a colour that isn't blue since Doom's blue range is trash. About 75% of it just dark blue, and then you have 5 or so colours to work with that actually have some luminosity.

Good work, you guys! Anyway mark torrid's words. It's really informative!torridgristle wrote:

Also, this big gun might fire hurricane causing warhead. Climator, maybe?
