Looks neat. I'd give it a shot but I don't have the patience to go around perfecting sprites. Plus massive lazyness.Raziel236 wrote:@Vriska

Okay, I'm feeling in the mood for crappy edits, so here's one more.
And as a bonus, have a neat lil' gun to play with
So uh
I'm working on a thing
Here's the armor separated in case anyone wants to make something out of it:

You really have to scale these things for Doom, they'll look a lot better. High-res sprites are a bit uncanny.
Spoiler: Images for following paragraphMy process for getting things scaled while preserving the vanishing point (when simplified to work outside of Photoshop's Smart Layers) is to scale my unscaled sprite to 83% height & 100% width for Doom's aspect ratio, create a new layer and trace out the vanishing point by following the lines of the gun until I get an intersection, create a new layer under those two layers and draw a 428x200 (16:9 in Doom adjusted for 120% vert) box with intersecting lines, then select both the layer with the gun and the layer with the perspective lines and scale + move them until the vanishing point matches on the cross and the gun is in a comfortable place. Then clean edges.
Also, you should try ripping with a more directional light source so you get nice highlight / shadow contrast that accentuates the form. Drawing it on later is a bit difficult.

I just like to make these quickly, but at the same time, try to detail them.torridgristle wrote:enderkevin13 wrote:Halo sprites with Doomguy hands.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
The biggest thing that makes the larger sprites extremely not-work is the resolution mixing. The hand+flash sprites are scaled upward incorrectly, which nukes any chances of the sprite looking right. :<
Leaning to scale things down (e.g. TorridGristle's example) is quite valuable. Looks better n' fits the game better.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
if you can, PLEASE listen to our advices. it helps to make your spriting better.
sounds interesting. hope you can work on it, then!Vostyok wrote:I really should get round to finishing this. I was going to add a larger carry handle (since the drop sprite has one) and work on getting the accordion effect of the barrel/receiver (?) thing goin on. Lol, guess you guys liked it then.

Did some work on a PPSH rip tonight for a Chernobyl themed TC I'm planning on making.
Not really the same gun anymore, but I like it.

Why did you just paste a doomguy hand on a full-sized model?enderkevin13 wrote:Spoiler: very big "sprites"Two new versions, better looking than the last two ones I made.
I don't mean to be rude, but critically these aren't even sprites.

Model rips can look better, though, with only a couple of tweaks to your current process.

Eww. Looks rotten. But your baron armor has real value! Looks nice. Just needs a little more touch on the leg shadows.VriskaSerket wrote:Looks neat. I'd give it a shot but I don't have the patience to go around perfecting sprites. Plus massive lazyness.Raziel236 wrote:@Vriska
