Centered weapons are unrealistic by definition. It is not a bad style, however.

It depends on the weapon. A lighter weapon (pistol, shotgun) is likely to be held so you can aim down the sights.Ravick wrote:Centered weapons are unrealistic by definition.
Have a look at Hacx's weapons: It mixes both styles in a way that makes sense and looks neat.

i don't think it matters for unrealistic, far-future based game like doom. because of UAC science can save the doomguy's day after all!
hella neat, now those would be useful!RSSwizard wrote:And some muzzle flashes to pick from for the chaingun (compatible with vanilla chaingun, paletted too)

And now a slug goes in the circular...thing.

Too bad ppl these days are in love with reeelism and angled weapons.Ghastly_dragon wrote:I'd love to see centered versions of the new weapons, so they fit alongside the existing Doom stuff.TheRailgunner wrote:

Angled weapons have been around since '96 at least. Frequently, angling a weapon has less to do with "realism" and more to do with seeing how nice the gun looks.nakkemake wrote:Too bad ppl these days are in love with reeelism and angled weapons.

Currently working on specific Spider Mastermind replacer sprites.

That's a "The Corruptor\Evilutioner\Possesed High Angel" with some "upgrades" by both *SOME_GENERIC_SPACE_CORP* and demons.

Really good looking! i love his armor and differently sided wings and arms!... it's invalid but he doesn't look like might be fit for doom style, though!

Well, that's because I do it for my own project, which will have it's own style.

Looks like the bullets are easy to get to with regards to animations too, hehe

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
The 2nd stage minigun barrel looks like 1 pixel off from the first stage. Sorry I just notice things.enderkevin13 wrote:Another oneSpoiler:
Thanks capt. The large muzzle flash actually does sorta stick up above the crosshair but it still looks nice. I guess it could be moved down under the barrel by about 5 pixels or so. When played quickly (3 tics) with a random jump it gives it a flickering appearance like a real minigun sometimes has.Captain J wrote:hella neat, now those would be useful!
Minor cosmetic note I designed it with the same idea as the MGUN ground sprite, and D64 chaingun, that the end of the gun has a fixed muzzle adapter which the barrels simply fire through. So the other barrels arent visible at the end.
