Looks cool to me, I always liked the cool poses the zombies in free doom did when they shot. Seemed a lot more zombie-like than doom's zombies.raymoohawk wrote:another rotation, i feel like im getting worse at this with each one

Doom's "Zombies" look like regular people, if you ask me.

well there's probably a reason for why they're called "possessed humans"

Huh. I always thought they were called Zombies, because the ending-screen names the weakest one "Zombieman".Blox wrote:well there's probably a reason for why they're called "possessed humans"

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I remember that when I saw the name "zombieman" at the Doom 2 end credits for the first time that I thought it was a bit of a silly name. I don't remember what I called them before I played Doom 2 though. It may have been zombies, pistol guys, or whatever. I don't really know. For the most part though, I've pretty much always known the "correct" names for most of the enemies. Given that most of them are quite short, or easily shortenable (e.g. Baron) I tend to use the more-or-less correct names most of the time. However, I do use a few (usually functional) names to refer to some of the enemies. e.g. I would tend to refer to shotgunners or shotgun guys when talking about the possessed former sergeants. And everyone uses "pinkie" once in a while to refer to the demons, right?TheBadHustlex wrote:Huh. Actually the British variant spelling is serjeantjmickle wrote:In britain we spell it Seaurgeunt

Among all the obsolete spellings listed by Wiktionary in the word's Old English and Old French and Latin etymology, there's one universal constant. Can you find it?
From Middle English sergeant, sergeaunt, serjent, serjaunt, serjawnt, sergant, from Old French sergeant, sergent, serjant, sergient, sergant (“sergeant, servant”), from Medieval Latin servientem, accusative of serviens (“a servant, vassal, soldier, apparitor”), from Latin serviēns (“serving”), present participle of serviō (“serve, be a slave to”). More at servant.

Oh! I couldn't see that at work (due to the filters in place). That looks really cool. I think the FreeDoom Caco is a pretty awful-looking sprite that I don't like much at all. Your sprite manages to keep much of the essence of the original monster design but somehow makes it into an excellent-looking enemy. Good job! I hope that you can finish it and that it gets included in FreeDoom.raymoohawk wrote:and a quick edit of the cacodemon, i kinda like how it is going
