You suppose badly. ZDoom supports PNG graphics appropriately. The only conversion it does is for the colors (to fit in the palette), and even then this doesn't happen when using GZDoom.

Unless you're planning to make a Isometric doom mod, NONE of the Diablo 2 monster sprites would work. They're all viewed from a on-top perspective, not the forward looking monster you would want for doom. A few of the explosion effects would work ok, although most of them are those reused commercial sprites found in most FPS games.

@ Eriance : thanks, but I don't want to make a monster based on it, it's slighty impossible and I don't want to lost hundreds of hours on it. I just want to post a nice sprite to give people ideas and make them dreaming about (I hope).

Here's the latest evolution of my blood lord :

If you could suit them for Doom, I mean, isometrically, it would then be awesome. Right now, it looks like it could only be used as a statue. (I always had an impression on the look of the Minotaurs in Diablo 2 Exp)

I liked the first Blood Lord, because he wasn't resized. Now, you can see the pixels stretch a little. The first one seemed more Doomish, because of this too.

Now all we need is a super-detailed silencer shotgun, and we can reenact "No Country For Old Men"...

But who's gonna replace Woody Harrelson? Maybe the guy from Chex Quest.

I'd start by saying it's not Doomish -- at all. Shrink 'im up. Shade him. Right now, he looks like some sorta cartoon.

Isn't he supposed to be like that? The entire game was cartoonish...

In first Jazz Jackrabbit there was a 3D sprite in bonus stage. It had complete rotations for standing and complete running animation from behind. Maybe you can base your sprites on it. I had it somewhere but I cant find it now.

They weren't THAT cartoony - but it's a drawing, it's not pixel art as the thread name (SPRITING carnival) implies. ;)
