Btw, if the middle rocket's that much bigger, shouldn't the booster part (pardon my lack of proper terminology, the "firey part") be bigger?

this is my attempt of a flight artifact for doom.
the idea came from generations arena, a cacodemon spirit trapped in a handy powerup-orb!

however it gets pallet-raped in zdoom... :(
can anyone help with that at all?

Not if you want to keep it magenta. There are only something like 5 magenta colours in the Doom palette.

yeah, thought so... that sucks, not sure what colour to make it as green, blue, red and tan are taken...
I tried a greyscale but it looked kinda boring... :(


any ideas on an ideal colour?

If you must keep it within the Doom palette's limits, then red would be a suitable color, despite it being used a lot. After all, that's the main color scheme of the Cacodemon.

You can try yellow, but that also may not be ideal as while there's more yellows than magentas in the Doom palette, the range is very skewed towards the bright end.

As far as I can tell, the sprites aren't quite the same (not just in colour). It's not that unlikely for two people to have the same idea...

That said, I like them. The Flight Sphere was one of my first spriting efforts, and these frames seem a bit more refined.

Ok fair enough i didnt look that closely as at a first glance as they looked identical. The only reason i knew about it, as i've used scalliano's flying sphere in a few of mods and credited him accordingly and figured it was the same one. My bad.
