giest118 wrote:use idfa and NOT idkfa. Idkfa is stupid. WHY DO PEOPLE USE IDKFA WHEN IDFA IS SO MUCH MORE USEFUL FOR TESTING!? WHY!!!!????
SERIOUSLY!
That all depends on what you're testing. If I'm testing my level and I decide to test that spot where that blue door is, I want to
  1. put an extra blue key in the editor
  2. bring down the console and type "give bluecard" or "summon bluecard"
  3. not test that part at all
  4. type "IDKFA" or bind a key to "give all"
I think choice "d" wins hands down. What you are saying is like: "People, Strawberry Haagen-Dazs sucks my ass and tastes like filthy orcs!!! How can you eat it?!"

Well for me, I have to think vary hard to remeber that idfa exists. I have always used idkfa. Always. It is a poster child doom cheat. On the other idfa is not. For me. idfa goes with idbehold and all the other rarely used doom cheats I never use and hardly remember.

Idfa is easier to remember. It's a full letter shorter! It's not like I'm asking you to type idspispopd or something!

We all have are preferences. Why? Because we're human. I prefer to be able still pick up a key even after i accidentally type idkfa instead of idfa. I don't type idkfa because I'm dumb (well, maybe I'm dumb anyway, but that's a whole 'nother realm :D). I type it in because it's like a reflex, similar to the way I just know, in a 10th of a second, how far to move my mouse in order to hit a monster. Reflex. It is something I cannot easily change, so I guess I'm flawed, as a human should be and always is. Once in a while I will type in idkfa without thinking. It's a habit from the old days of vanilla doom, when my passion for this game was still uncontrolled enough to make me miss work.

Anyway, I'm gonna go do something else besides talking about keycards, and idfa vs. idkfa. And if you must know, YES I'd love to pick up 4000 keycards. I don't know, but it strkies my fancy. Mock2 has less than 1000, so it won't do. But I can always hope for that one level that'll have it, for I'm too lazy to make it myself. :)

It's a simple question;

which is worse?

a) going through the "agonizing torture" *cough* of typing 4 letters instead of 5 and then being able to thoroughly test your own levels and other people's, AS WELL AS getting through a level where a key has a vital script attached to it

or

b) typing one-more letter than you have to and finding out later that you can't get through the level because you typed one-more letter than you had to

B is worse, is it not? And A is better. I don't think Randy will ever change this key thing people.

Sorry, you don't make any sense. There is no reason to prohibit picking up a key the player already has. Unlike Medikits that can be used later there is absolutely no need to leave the key in the level. (BTW, it's changing one line of code (and yes, it's probably an unintentional bug as a result of reformatting the code) so don't pretend this might be too much work.)

Alright, go to your stupid little fantasy world where you think you must type idkfa and not idfa... and collect 4000 keys... I don't see the point. You still need a 903828-paragraph explanation in order to get me to believe that there is a point to collecting 4000 keys of the same type in one level.

Personally, I think that killing 4000 imps in one level with a plasma rifle is more fun.

You have just achieved total inacuracy. According to my editor, there were over 20000 imps in that level. I asked for 4000.

OK, tell me what the point is in picking up extra helmets or potions when your health is already at 200... See?
