i would like to see a marathon 1 weapons and npcs mod for doom. with it haveing all the music and exact gameplay as the original game. i would also love to see the first level of marathon being re created in doom
theres not enough marathon stuff for doom sadly. so id love to see this mod idea come to life!

a strife 'prequel', instead of starting straight into the action of killing an Acolyte, how about starting in a normal day in the town before it was corrupted, with jolly people (including the woman and children), running normal erans for people, as if it was a modern day FPS when you start out walking around and communicating with people, without weapons, and THEN the commit hits and Hell breaks loose.
Or like HL Blue Shift, play from other perspectives like Black Bird or escapee woman, or even an Acolyte.

id still totally vote for this idea as its like the guns were secretly designed only for that purpose in first place, without me even noticing it. i still dont see idea like that laying around done otherwise lol, unless there has been a whole new wave of experimental mods in the couple of months span im not aware of

I think it'd be pretty cool to take the monsters and concepts of Doom, then move them into another period of time rather than "sci-fi future." A few mods have already done this (Cold As Hell, Fistful of Doom, Pirates!, etc.), but I think it'd be neat to set it during ancient times. Ancient China, feudal Japan, the Middle Ages, and so on. Limited firearms (if any at all), and the techno-inspired demons would use weapons closer in scope to the technology available at the time (imagine a Mancubus essentially being a mobile catapult, or a Revenant firing flaming crossbow bolts instead of homing rockets). Similarly, the player's weapons would reflect the times, too. Swords, bows, spears, things like that.

so I had this strange Doom dream, I ran out of ammo and was cornered, and I picked up some of the background decorations, such as the candle stick, a barrel and even unearthing a stalagmite and use them as weapons. And it gave me an idea, what if EVERY object in Doom was intractable? like if you are near it, it gives you an option to pick it up to hit monsters with or throw at them, of course the item would get damaged and unusable after a few times. Or you can just toss it around for the fun of it like in Serious Sam 2. Come to think of it, I believe a EDuke 3D mod did something similar with picking up objects. I think it would be a lot of fun. Heavier objects would make you move slower when carrying them such as the green/red columns. It's like in real life if you were in one of those doom maps and didn't have a weapon, you'd just grab something heavy and toss it at a monster or perhaps smack them with a torch pole.

Man, I've got so many ideas for new projects, I'm surprised I've managed to stick to one for so long now. But I'd really like to do a couple:
i) A "prequel" to Doom, set in the 40's, where a sinister cult opens a gate to hell. A hard boiled detective, the Cyberdemon BEFORE he got all messed up, Tommy guns, woooohooo111111!
2) A mission pack, like ID did for Quake I and II. As in if they had ever did the same for Ultimate Doom. Extra enemies, new weapons, two new episodes, all outsourced to some crazy up-and-coming developers. Oh and some ridiculous story to tie it all together.

After seeing the Preview in the "Off-Topics" section for DUSK... what about a demake of it in GZDoom / Zan 3.0? That would be cool as fuck (with some limitations of course...)

Ok, so i just got a very cool idea for a mod that i'd call Permadeath Doom. The idea is simple: if you die, ZDoom deletes itself (along with the IWAD).
