Thanks to this resource pack, I practically have my own army! But I have a question. Can this resource pack be used with other WADs, including KDIZD?

I had to pry off the modified original weapons and the new player class from kdizd before it worked properly. More simple wads should be fine though

You know, you could PM Bouncy himself instead of bumping this thread. Plus, the Coop Marines-Marine resource pack is not the Marine Resource Wad. This one is created by unknowna, while the Marine Resource Wad is created by Bouncy.

You know what sucks even more? This: http://zdoom.org/wiki/Marine_Express

I tested this wad out hearing this was out before this happened, but when I read about the LEAKED version of Marine Zeta, it sounded more like Ripped version of coop marines from him. I think an admin should check out both project and find out who ripped of who...

Rip off anyone!?!?

It would be cool if you made an evil marine for the Beastiery using this code. :)

Lately, I've been somewhat busy with trying to map. I'll post up a new version of this once I get the map done. :P
In the next version, the marines don't use any A_Chase speed at all. It only becomes the "steering wheel" and target checker.

Pros:
- looks more like a bot
- allowed me to give them proper circlestrafe speed

Cons:
- makes em' unable to open doors (A_Chase most likely controls this, and since I nullified the speed property, it can't do that)
- poor navigation / zcajunesque

They'll also have the same aggressiveness as a cyber, smastermind and an archvile. Works well. Just to make everything more relevant to the doom behaviour, you know. uber geek, yeah :ugeek:

@ CaptainToenail: In a simple way, remove the custom projectiles, weapons and whatnot and add a -FRIENDLY flag, and there ya go. Badass marines for you, hehe.
If you'd like to do that, I don't know if you'll be able to know if you're up to date or not. In fact, I should really add a version number to future releases.

Oh, okay, I wash just checking to see if anyone cared about someone ripping of this project and calling it their own. Guess that rule no longer applies anymore. Sweet *starts ripping himself*

And I thought you were talking about a completely different project. If you want to rip something out, you should ask for permission from the original author.

That is what i was saying, is everyone slow or doesn't anyone care about ripping anymore? Cause if not, might as well start.

This project is a ripoff, and should be banned.

Okay, you little shit, I've had it up to here with you.
This project also uses absolutely no graphic resources whatsoever. Only very intricate DECORATE code.

Also, if someone were to rip off your work without asking you first, what would you do?

That's enough reason to claim you as Marcus.

Indeed, and there is actually another mod like this called "Marine Express". However, Doom Connector, or Marcus Koller hasn't done anything with it at all for a long time, but instead, has been whining about ripping off. Ripping off who? Just because you make a dm map doesn't mean that other people won't as well. And instead of adopting an arsed attitude, "boohoo, my dm map was made before yours, therefore, you should be banned", grow up and if anything, come up with something new.

Meanwhile, let's check out this "Marine Express" on the wiki. First, let's check when the page was edited the last time. October the 7th... That's about the time Doom Connector posted that here. Someone must have edited that page, then come here to pretend like another person, a messenger so to speak.
Doom Connector wrote:Now all we need is Doom 3 Styled Tinman's Squad and then this thing would be the best coop bots ever. Giving this marines commands to "Follow", "Free", "Attack", or "Hold" as commands positions would be perfect.

From Wiki page:
Future Releases?
There have been sighting of future releases revealing script that will allow the player to control the marines with various commands. It was said it will be based on Doom 3's Tinman Squad Mod in the same way. However, due to complications in multiplayer, this may not work. No further information has been released as of yet.
Ok, let's download the mod and check it out. I'll extract the files to the desktop and open them up in Slumped. 4 files; MARINEX.wad, MARINEEXP1.wad, MARINEEXP2.wad, MARINEZ.wad and MARINEX.txt

But before extracting them out from the zip, let's check when the files were modified the last time. Not surprisingly, all of the files except MARINEZ.wad were edited around April. Three wads on the 24th and one txt the 19th.
MARINEZ.wad was edited on September the 29th.

Alright, let's extract it out and open it in Slumped.
Just as I thought, a copypaste of the latest public version of coop marines (new version soon).
It's blatantly obvious judging by the style of the DECORATE code in the other wads that followed with.

:?
