However, the one particular one I'm in, they've evolved to heavy edits and/or MS-Paint customs (good customs, though)...

Its just pointless shit, ignore it.Nash wrote:Those sprite rip databases are disgusting because of all this bullshit I see on the sprite sheets like "CREDIT ME/US OR PLZDIEKTHX" when all they did was rip from commercial games.
I sometimes use sprite sheets from these sites as a base for my own modifications - because I am too lazy to make my own. (and why, if someone already made it...)

Heh, my little brother makes Quake 4 monster remakes out of Sonic the Hedgehog sprite sets he finds. Sometime I'll post the Heavy Hovertank and Iron Maiden so you guys can laugh at them (They're quite good, but they're funny).
Back ontopic, I'm done with the Balor: http://www.badongo.com/file/4496108. It doesn't teleport nearly as far as I would like (usually just a few feet to the side), but one time he teleported across the map in Doom 2 Map13. It can also summon Barons, has a nasty explosive hitscan attack and explodes when it dies (like the D&D Balor).
I'm incredibly proud of its teleportation ability
. I'd like to give credit to the people who made the Heresy Lord, which this is an obvious recolor of, and Eriance for the projectile sprites. The sounds are from Doom 3, and the explosion sprites are from UTNT. While it looks pretty good how it is, I hope someone'll pick this up and put a different head on it to make it look more apart from the Heresy Lord and more like the D&D Balor.
I don't expect either the Bezekira nor the Balor to win, but I just hope they get into the beastiary.

Here's one I made for my own personal challenge wad a while back. It's an Arachnotron that uses the Railgun Arachnotron sprites, but has custom sounds and a really unique attack. I call it the "SpatterTron".
You cannot escape the SpatterTron!
I submit this one because I don't think any of the monsters already in the Bestiary have an attack anything like this.
(By the way: Isn't it spelled "Bestiary"?)

Yeah, but it's not actually spelled that way (unless it's a stylistic choice of Tormentor's, of course)Penguinator wrote:Beastiary, root word beast.
No results for "Beastiary"
A "Bestiary" is a collection of information on beasts
Firefox and MSWord's spellcheck features also agree with this.

You could say it's a stylistic choice, Torm named it such because of this site (last updated four years ago).
The root word is actually "bestia" (Latin for beast), which became "beste" in Old French and from there "beast" in English. I'm not sure why an 'a' got added, though it at least prevents confusion with the superlative of good.
A google comparison of "beastiary" and "bestiary" shows that the proper spelling yields nearly three millions results, the first of which being all from serious sources; while the wrong words yield not even two hundred thousand results, which appears to be usually be game-related.
