I don't know if this has been done yet but it might be useful in creating more atmosphere in levels. Its basically just a bunch of small pieces put together to create a single 3D-ish tree.

Downside is that too many trees like this would make a level run slow.

I think this technique would be good for creating larger trees which is something usually not pulled off too well in the doom engine. You can also have one side in light and the other side in shadows, which is what I tried in this demo level. If anyone wants to use this, feel free. I'll probably experiment with this idea more.

Wow, that looks great. I'd hate to see the FPS if I used trees like that in Phocas 2

Thanks, yeah it's definitely limited to places with not a lot of stuff visible or very large levels.

It's nice, but yeah, it can't be used for large outdoor areas.
