Actually, it is a bit odd that the player.viewheight is larger than the sprite itself.. =P

GAH THE NEW HAND WEAPON BALANCE

IT BURNSSSSSSSSSSSSS BURRRRRRRRRRRRNS!

Fireballs cost less and kill Hell Knights so much faster than the altfire which REALLY drains you.

Why'd it take two fireballs to kill a Hell Knight and like 8-10 zaps?

It should take at least 4 fireballs to wax a Hell Knight. 8-10 seems right for the loightnin', which is basically a shotgun in all but name. (Including power: 6*6d3 vs 7*5d3 for the stock shotgun)

The fireballs that spawn in a circle are probably hitting him too, causing extra damage then. STill, the ammo amounts are reversed if that's correct.

*checks*. Right you are: For an extra 5d8 (plasma ball strength) a pop, which increases the overall damage to over 500.

The Psi-Amp's balance has been modified quite a bit - the Fireball damage was set to 20 with an explosion damage of 4 and several fragments doing 5 damage each. This has been modified so that the fireball itself does only 10 damage, explosion does 3, and the fragments are set to 3 damage and +Strifedamage. I also added a 20-damage lightning railgun attack to the alternate fire's current attack, plus puffs so you can tell what the hell you're shooting at.

The mod has been updated again.

http://armory.drdteam.org/wwmods/inprog ... c-diaz.rar

New features this time around:

- Psi-Amp rebalanced - the lightning is now a better attack than the fireball. The fireball has been suitably nerfed.
- Psi-Amp now has more animations and the attacks don't look so cheesy.
- Full Heretic support. Easier to do than I thought. Anybody want to playtest through a few episodes for me? The weapons are probably all going to be horribly unbalanced for Heretic...
- Updated the DIAZ-SG lump with new credits information as well as modifying the descriptions of some of the weapons.
- The Psi-Amp is now smaller.
- The hand grenade pickups have been fixed - they are now no longer inexplicably larger than an RPG-7.
- Fixed some damage resistances - the flame troopers only take 1/4 damage from fire attacks, which includes PSI fireballs, their own flamethrowers, and exploding fuel packs from their comrades. Also, the slug rifle troopers can no longer kill themselves with their own weapons (I think? Haven't confirmed it myself but it should be fixed!)

The lightning feels cheesy coming from the center of the screen.

EDIT: hud yet implemented? And on another note, why not use the squiggly lightning like from the original diaz rail gun?

It DID use the squiggly lightning and it didn't quite come from the centre.

Yeah, you're right, the squiggle just was too low for me to see. Still seems odd to come from the center though.

OK, i finally cheked this mod, and all i can say is: amazing. I just loved the way how firing alters a bit (depending the weapon) your aim.

There are only 2 things I disliked about this:
1.- agent diaz is very tall (im very used to the standard doom guy)
2.- player speed (again, im very used to doomguy's (extreme) speed)

anyway. great work :D

Also, i did recognize the screams of the zombieman replacements, I remember having fun in Marathon killing my allies instead of letting them help me.

I've removed the view height offsets now, because Diaz isn't even supposed to be that tall. Also, I didn't do anything to her default run speed - but you'll run more slowly while carrying the RPG-7, or while firing the RPK/sighting through the Mauser.
