That looks quite nice, actually. Well done.

Yup, that is a big improvement. I dl'd the pic and zoomed in on it. There are still quite a few blocky areas caused by the resize (particularly near the the sides) but a bit of manual editing on those would clear them up quite quickly.

Don't make them cyan unless you only want it to work in GZdoom or you are using a custom palette. Zdoom can't show cyan. ;)

Actually, just don't do 0, 255, 255 or whatever that cyan one is.

That still won't be in the palette. There is nothing resembling cyan in the Doom palette.

I'm sure if I made it PNG I could use cyan, but if not I'll use orange or green.

It'll show as blue in ZDoom but yeah, it'll work.

You use MS Paint, right? Be sure to chose a color, any color, that you won't use (hot pink, for example, it contrasts well and is unlikely to be used on a weapon) as the transparent color.

Since MS Paint can't manage transparency, you'll need to make your sprites transparent once finished by using something like IrfanView, which has the option of turning everything of a given color transparent when you save it as PNG.

Anyone know where I can find the Doomguy hands sprite sheet? I used to have it but I deleted it and I can't find it using Google.

Oh thanks! This is what I've got so far for the muzzle flash, although I'm not happy with it at all, I was originally going for a green flash but it looks too much like the bfg then.

Got any tips for the flash glowing through the slits on the barrel of the gun, because it looks terrible at the moment.

Extend the "flash" to induce some changes to the gizmos. The flash should be of the same color as the projectiles (which means, in this case, cyan).

For the glow in the slits, experiment with giving them different lengths to their brightest part, so that it'll make either an A-shape or a V-shape. Look if it looks better that way.
