Maybe we should make a Hell-Forged addon subforum? I also have no clue how to make a subforum.

I don't think Hell-Forged warrants its own subforum. Just make your own thread in the TCs subforum or the Gameplay Mod subforum?

Perhaps...oooor maybe I could make a google drive folder for addons. Actually, yeah, I'll do that and I'll post up the link. Might you be open to putting it on the original HF post? I think it's actually easier for the both of us...that, and I'd love to discuss about what kind of addons I'd make and things to tweak. XD

Oh man. I played the new version few days ago but couldn't submit some feedback for you because there were some trouble IRL. But here goes!

EDIT: I also recently updated the sound addon linked at the OP. Added new sound replacements(especially for sharks) and remixed new sound effects. Be sure to read the readme.txt before using it!

@Capain J: Thanks again for the in-depth testing. Fixed all the bugs. The Intermission screen is already fixed. It's something with the new GZDoom and wide-screen images.

Edited the intermission so that the level title didn't overlap the intermission pointer image when going to HF1M8:

EDIT:

Managed to find a backup of the Hellduke model on an random flash drive, luckily. Added the alternate-fire frame and touched up the sprite a bit.

Thats pretty Cool. I'm guessing the Alternate attack is for somekind of Grenade Attack?

Yup. As of 1.10, all of the mini bosses have the same alternate attack as the alternate fire for your 2nd-tier weapons in some way. Some are more powerful for balance.

EDIT: Finished updating the Hellduke sheet with melee attack.

How exactly did you edit the Quake 1 textures that's in Hell-Forged? I assume its more than a straight palette conversion, since when I tried that they looked pretty ugly, but I'm trying to convert a few textures into HF-style and I'm curious as to how you did it?

I'm assuming you mean the ones that have the brick on top and the stone carving on the bottom. I didn't convert those, I remade them based on the pattern of the Quake textures.

Oh Those. Nope, those are not redrawn. I just pasted them from Quake into the wad-paletted bitmap file where I keep all the textures with MS Paint classic (Win 95 MS Paint, not the newer one). The colors convert on their own that way.

As for the various doors, I did an extra step. I put a layer on top of the original filled with one of a color I wanted from the Hell-Forged Palette.

Refer to the example below:



I have two layers. The base layer, on the right, and the color layer on the left. The color layer uses a color from the HF palette.

Color layer goes above the base layer, then I set the blending style to either "Color" for darker colors, or "Overlay" for brighter ones.

Then convert the image to a 8-bit paletted image with the Hell-Forged paletted loaded. The result.
