New version of SLADE is up, with this new stuff:

Code: Select all

-> 'Hide IWAD Textures' option in texture browser
-> DECORATE things are now parsed (scaling and transparency also supported)
-> Many improvements to the ACS editor, including hilighting and autocomplete
-> Map panning (shift+right click by default)
-> Various bugfixes and (slight) performance improvements
Get it at http://slade.mancubus.net

Cool, you can hide IWAD textures. That'll make it a lot easier to start working on this level of mine... *click*

Oh, this isn't good.

Sometimes, SLADE crashes when saving a backup of your level before entering 3D Mode. This I can live with because I save a lot.

However, in the new version when it does so it also takes most of SLADE.CFG with it, so you have to delete it, redefine your IWADs etc. whenever it happens or SLADE will freeze on startup.

Ouch.

Got it to crash as such again (this time when loading an IWAD o.O) and have included the molested CFG file.

Logs didn't show anything.

That's really strange, it shouldn't touch the config file at all except at startup and on exiting (ie not crashing :P). No idea how that could happen I'm afraid :/

Hmm, maybe I should change it so it saves the config when 'exit slade' or whatever is selected, rather than when the wxwidgets application exits.

Nice, I think I'll download this and check it out. But can you make it so the interface feels more like DB's?

Heh, we posted simultaneously.

But yeah, this seems pretty much at random. Could the fact I run the 3D Mode at a very high resolution do anything bad?

That shouldn't have any effect whatsoever.

What would be the point in that? SLADE isn't a DB clone :P

Maybe an option to have a DoomBuilder-like interface?

I dunno, I'm just more used to DoomBuilder's interface than Slade's.

Sure, you can download the DB Interface Patch at http://www.codeimp.com.

Slayer: If it says anything, it tends to display the "This program has done a bad thing and needs to shut down" thing twice. Forgot to mention that.

Way more work than it's worth. I'm guessing you mean to copy the doom builder dialogs and everything?

Which, to be fair, is probably easier for you to do than it is for Slayer to re-write an interface just to please you. ;)
