ZDoom 2.0.47 is now on the Downloads page.

I think he means 2.0.47i (not quite 2.0.48), which has the uncapped framerate, etc :)

You tellin' us that the 2.0.47 on the lars page is now updated to include an uncapped framerate?

By the way, is there a way to have smileys enabled, but not show up when you are ending a phrase in parentheses? (SP?) Like the post that Timmie did. (Which I put spaces in...)

Forgive me if I sound a little redundant, but I'm going to very excited to play ZDoom in excess of 35fps. I swear, seeing Imps and Former Marines explode into guts in close to real-time framerate will be so disturbingly cool.

It was novel at first but I actually don't like it much for old-skool Doom, just wads like dark7. Check out BBG's post in General Discussion.

I wasn't sure for a while either. That was until I capped the FPS at 35 again and I couldn't believe how jerky it was.

Ouch, that screeny above was taken at 800x600 I just got 998 FPS at ye good olde 320x200.

Why can't I get over 1000 hmmm?

Edit: On hitting the - key until the playable area of the screen was minimal and changing a couple of other options, I got 998 FPS in 800x600, but when I changed to 320x200 with the same settings I still got 998 (briefly saw 999) so I'm guessing that might be the limit.

You can get above 1000 FPS, but it cant be measured, since the delta time frames are in milliseconds. But theres no point in it anyway, because as soon as your FPS goes higher than your refresh rate, you wont see the difference anymore, or you only get "bleeding frames" (which is most disturbing) if its not synchronized to the refresh rate.

Why not release a pre-2.0.48 with no limit on the FPS? (Like 2.0.48pre1) *sigh*

Sorry, no ETA on 2.0.48 yet. I don't think it will be too long, since most of what I have left is just cleanup from the switch to the new texture system.

Here is a screenshot illustrating the use of any texture anywhere and the wad it was made with:
