Hey Hirogen, you've got to get Blood and play it, you'll see those "monsters". They are mimes and they don't hurt you, just stand around IIRC. When you kill one, your Blood character says, "I hate mimes", at least you say it once. Was it also a mime who wants to take your ticket to the carnival level, and when you walk by, says,"Hey, stop him, he didn't pay!"?Hirogen2 wrote:That screenshot shows the ZDoom engine, but what game is it? The symbols (HUD and inventory) look like Heretic/Hexen, but I have not seen that monster (actor in this case) in the "usual" IWADs. Which PWAD is loaded, if any?

Duck, I told you the straight facts the other night. I will now tell everyone what I told you.
There have been lots of complaints over the past year about consistency failures. A few months ago, Randy turned his attention to this issue and wanted help in testing the zdoom multiplayer functions and netcode. That help consisted of passing a 47x beta out to a few partners, playing coop and deathmatch games, recording demos and capturing log files with the -debug command line argument. I made this a priority and organized games repeatedly as Randy studied the logs and made adjustments. He even addressed issues of hosting on a LAN from behind a router, allowing both LAN clients and internet clients to connect (this was impossible in the past with p2p networking, the internet clients could only see the host, never the other LAN players due to the firewall).
People directly involved in the tests were me, Falconer, Greensting, Tracilords, Some Dude and my daughter Eryn. Randy knows full well that the beta executables have to be passed around to be tested and there is no issue. Over a year ago, Randy sent me some early zdoom 1.23 betas (2.0pre7 notably) to use at our LAN parties and I shared that around widely after some time passed as well. I let Randy know via email that I intended to do so, and asked if there were objections. None.
After some time passed and Randy had no further network test requests, I thought it would be a good idea to let some folks have the 47i. The reason is that, the more testing is done, the more chances of catching remaining bugs. Therefore I sent it over to Arioch and Cyb and it was up to them to share it with other loyal doomers. I shared with Nigel, Sphagne, JackV, Nanami, LWM and maybe 4 others. Sure enough, a further bug was caught with Massmouth2 and also with LWM's Chosen.
So why doesn't Randy just put 47i in lars? I don't know but this is not the first time he's allowed a beta to be spread "unofficially". Neither Randy or Zdoom is being "cheated" or harmed somehow. Anyone who likes doom and zdoom and contributes to the forums, here or Doomworld, is welcome to join in the fun. Let's not hear any more complaining about this issue unless Randy himself wants to say something.

Not an excuse, you're smart enough to know what you're doing, laying little turds all over the forum rather than just contributing or keeping your cool. A number of people here have faced adversity in their lives but don't use it as justification to keep a chip on their shoulder. It may take you some additional effort, but you could be a welcome member if you can develop a little humility and restraint. Remember those "forum rules" you posted a few days ago? How about that "show respect" recommendation? That doesn't mean to kiss ass, just to treat people like you want them to treat you. Speak calmly and politely and you'll soon see it reflected in how people respond to you.
How about we put this issue behind us, log off and get some rest, come back another day with better spirits. Best wishes for the future amigo.
