New Projects from Alando1
Hello everyone,
I know it has been a while since I was on the forums and I apologize for my absence. At the end of 2013, I had a bit of a medical emergency; through most of 2014, I've been recovering from it. After that, I've been trying to catch up on some things and I finally found time to get in touch with the Doom community.
For some time, I have been working on some projects. The two main projects that I have been working on are: The DOOM Tribute Project and Temple of the Lizard Men 4.
The DOOM Tribute Project has been under construction since 2012 and I currently have a working beta done. This project retells the DOOM story by recreating and reinterpreting the classic levels from DOOM 1 and DOOM 2. I had hoped to have this project done last year but a lot of crazy things were going on. Below is a video of the trailer. I will be creating a separate thread with further information on it especially in regards to beta testing.

As for Temple of the Lizard Men 4, I've been doing little bits of work on it here and there. So far I have three levels completed. I may need help doing the other maps but I will set up another thread on the forums where there will be further information.
One other announcement I wanted to tell all of you is that I created an updated version of Temple of the Lizard Men 2 & 3. I cleaned up some things that caused issues a while back and I removed the Duke Nukem-ish stuff. I have also been collaborating with another fellow Doomer to retouch and polish up the first TOTLM. All in all, the entire Temple of the Lizard Men series is getting a little makeover and getting fixed up. Below are the links to the updated versions of TOTLM2 and TOTLM3; Please enjoy!

So that's all the news I have and I hope everyone had a nice holiday and a Happy New Year.

Loving the look of the original maps in new forms. Good work on those so far. I love seeing old map designs updated and changed.
What weapon mod is that? Part of the project or something different? I love the weapon sprites being extended out AND smooth like that. Not a fan of the BFG though.

Re: New Projects from Alando1
Glad to hear that Temple of the Lizardmen 4 is in the works. It was the Temple of the Lizardmen series that opened my mind more towards Doom partial and total conversions (I used to steer clear of them). c:
I'll definitely have to give the updated Lizardmen 2 & 3 a try once I get through playing Estranged. :O
I'm also really digging the Doom Tribute trailer.

Re: New Projects from Alando1
So i've finished playing the Doom Tribute Project mod and i freaking love the maps, they are one of the best maps for Doom to this date.
However i was thinking, how difficult would it be to strip the wad from all monster and weapon modifications and turn it into just a map pack? I would love to play these maps with other mods such as Brutal Doom, which is currently not possible because DoomTrib's modifications mix with theirs and it glitches out.
I would be willing to pay to somebody who does that.

The Doom Tribute Project is a great map pack.
I really want to have a mod-compatible version so that I can play with those awesome mods that add new player classes and/or weapons.
Re: New Projects from Alando1
I saw Zdenda1990 playing this on YT and wanted to play it again. I knew I had it in my wad folder but couldn't find it. Then of all places I find it in a folder of a Brutal Doom Expansion Mod that adds monsters to BD. Then in another folder there's a patch to play it WITH the expansion and BD. Sadly its made for one of the earliest RCs and keeps popping error messages. Still playable thoughClifford21 wrote:Yeah, I have the same wish as well.youda008 wrote:So i've finished playing the Doom Tribute Project mod and i freaking love the maps, they are one of the best maps for Doom to this date.

Um.....yeah, I also do remember coming across with a compatibility patch for Brutal Doom before....Beezle wrote:I saw Zdenda1990 playing this on YT and wanted to play it again. However, it's only for Brutal Doom. We still can't play the maps with other awesome mods from "Gameplay" section of this forum.
And I found that some enemies' sprites / animations will get distorted when playing-test this patch with the Brutal Doom v21 RC 1. I am not really sure which version of Brutal Doom it's supposed to work with flawlessly.....
