Any megawads that has small sized maps.

Post by TheWeaponCollector »

I like Khorus' Speedy Shit and Scythe 1 and 2 for their small-sized maps and layout. Are there any more small map-sized megawads.

Zone400 is a great one with small maps (as implied by the name).

This, but also without forgetting its direct prequel, Zone300...

Here you have the download links for both:

By the way, and following with the hundreds on names, 200 Min of /VR/ is also a quite interesting (and not too long) megawad:

Have fun! :thumb:

I am so glad this was the first response. Because it really is a pretty mapset and ill defend its noteworthyness till the end. Its perfect. Its the ideal coffee break WAD in my eyes.

I'm currently working on my Megawad. Episode 1 is a series of small-medium maps based on the Athena Station.
Once I'm finished this episode, I'll release it as a shareware demo then of course, release the full mission pack
on Moddb.com for free. :) :P

Unholy realms is really good, all are nice and bite sized but also pretty damn hard.

I feel kinda dumb for suggesting that because it seems like one of those wads that people just know about like eviternity or sunlust, but just incase you haven't I'd recommend giving it a go.

I recommend looking into this wiki category:
https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Category:PWAD ... strictions

Most of the wads there are small maps. Some have been listed here in the thread.

50 monsters. One of the best megawads ever made.

20 Monsters Challenge has some pretty short maps in general. It was a community project that only allowed for 20 monsters in each map, with some restrictions (certain high tier enemies not allowed).

The sequel to that is 40 Monsters Challenge, which allowed for 40 monsters and no tier restrictions, but the maps are larger in size (but not by too much).

And I am not just posting those because I made contributions to them! But they are the only map sets I can think of at the moment that are fairly small and haven't already been mentioned.

There is also Dimensions of Time, but from what I recall since last playing it, it's a mix of medium and small sized maps. That, and the quality isn't the best, due in part that the map set was designed by a 13 year old, but the maps do have their charm. I actually enjoy it, at least.
