How to get to visual/3D mode in Ultimate Doom Builder R4025? Q or W does not work!

Hi I have ultimate Doom Builder R4025 and it's said in help that I should press "W" to get to the visual mode. Also in one You Tube tutorial it's said to press "Q".
However none of the buttons does work. I pressed almost all the buttons on the keyboard and couldn't get to the visual/3D mode.
On my previous setup (R3489) pressing "Q" worked.
Please help.

Two ways, in any version of Ultimate Doom Builder:

1. press F5 (Preferences), select Controls
in the Automap Mode section see the key which is set for Visual Mode

2. in AppData/Local/Doom Builder find UDBuilder.cfg and UDBuilder.log
you can inspect them for clues, or you can delete them and let the editor generate new ones.

If you want a handy list of all possible shortcuts and their keys bound to them,
then go to Help and select Keybord Shortcuts Reference and save it and/or print it out.

Thank you. So I've checked the shortcut.
The shortcut for visual mode was "Q".
However still, when I press "Q: nothing happens.

That is odd indeed. In that case I suspect that

1. either Windows does not play right, for example, it could be the location of UDB. On some systems, when UDB was installed in a Windows controlled folder like C:\Program Files\UDB the editor exhibited some problem. This was solved by moving the editor to a dedicated folder such as C:\Folder\Subfolder\UDB or something like that, or

2. your keyboard is iffy.

The keyboard works well. The Q key works fine.

Well the Ultimate Doom Builder is in a normal common directory in my games folder. Not in any windows one.

I notice that 0 Building Doom has an additional space added to it (so 0 Building Doom) in the commandline.

A few things to try:
- Remove the additional space
- Can you try launching UDB in a folder that does not have any numbers to it? Say just C:/Temp/UDB.

Just so you can cancel out naming convention bullshrubberies.

Unfortunatelly not.
1. I have moved everything to short folders without spases like: C:\\UDB and c:\UDB\Wads and C:\\UDB\GZDoom etc.
2. I have run the UDB and accepted the update to R4030

Still no reaction on pressing Q or W.
That's so strange.
The keys work fine. I'll move the old install from the old laptop and check if this install works on the new one. This way I'll rule out the HW problem.

Well copied verssion (3489 - from the old laptop) works perfectly fine, Q key works.
And WHAT'S SIGNIFICANT when I allowed this verssion to update to R4030, immediately the Q key stopped working.
So THIS IS TE PROBLEM WITH THE UPDATE and the new verssion.

So anyone knows what causes the problem?

What happens when, instead of auto-updating, you install r4030 manually?

The same. Clean install and The "Q" does not work.

And I cant check the older verssions because the oldest one avaiable here https://devbuilds.drdteam.org/ultimatedoombuilder/ is r4026.
And I've installed R4026 - the same problem - no reaction on pressing Q
