I seem to recall seeing someone make a fork of Doombuilder designed to work better with all the GZDoom enhancements, but this was a very log time ago.
I'm wondering if that version is still viable/desirable; or if perhaps some yet better option has supplanted it.
There are a number of things that I think I would really want to have right in the editor without having to fandangle something or loading the map in-game just to test it.
Applying wall textures to floors, or having my textures replaced with higher resolution versions, placing custom items/enemies/things into my map. Not to mention building room-over-room and slopes and seeing what they look like right in the editor.
How do I go about seeing these enhancements directly within the editor?
Is there a version of Doombuilder designed for GZDoom?

I think Ultimate Doom Builder should probably cover you.

Re: Is there a version of Doombuilder designed for GZDoom?
DBX, as just an improved version of DB2, offers the same as UDB, however UDB also supports all the extra features of GZDoom as far as mapping formats are concerned. Additionally, UDB offers improved features/shortcuts as an editor in constructing a map.Marscaleb wrote: Nice to know there are two options.
What does Doombuilder X offer that UDB doesn't? And vice-versa?
As such, DBX has not seen any updates in ages, whereas UDB is updated frequently with bugfixes and plugin extensions.
Even when simply editing for DOOM/BOOM formats, the editor features alone are worth their 'weight' in gold.
