Re: Hexen HD 2020 (Coming Soon)
I like a bit of specular on the ground. Would better to make it somewhat random so it looks like wet or moist spots instead of plain flat glossy or matte.

Yeah, I feel the first shots were ok. Better than these last shots, imo.
Again: Dungeons and castles can be "moist-looking", and probably were back in the day... and HeXen has particularly foul weather constantly, so...
I think you're focusing too much on this whole stones thing, which is unnecessarily nitpicky.
The only thing that shouldn't really have that much gloss is wood and dirt.
Everything else is fair game, I say.

It looks pretty good.
Did the Weapon Sprites get the Neural Upscale Treatment?
At least thats what looks like for some of them.

Re: Hexen HD 2020 (Release)
Awesome, I think it looks great! There's obviously been a lot of hard work put into this release and it shows.
BUT, some of the displacement maps are a bit over the top, especially for some textures. When you can see visible stretching of pixels, that's a sign it's gone too far. Also, some textures like the stained glass don't even make sense to be so extruded. Stained glass is only slightly bumpy and raised around the endge of each color.
I think these are some of the most faithful HD textures I've seen, but when it comes to effects, a more subtle approach for some of the textures will impress people more. Sometimes less really is more.

Re: Hexen HD 2020 (Release)
So, I tried this with Walpurgis and it crashes GZDoom when trying to load a level (like after choosing your character).
Why could this be?

Considering Walpurgis crashes GZDoom on it's own, I'd say the problem rests there. I can't even tell what version it's meant to be played on, theRafaHell wrote:So, I tried this with Walpurgis and it crashes GZDoom when trying to load a level (like after choosing your character).

Re: Hexen HD 2020 (Release)
It crashes the version Hexen HD comes with though, so it looks like there's an incompatibility with the version each mod needs.

Walpurgis actually crashes with any version of GZDoom when loaded with this HexenHD, hence my question: Why is this happening?

Re: Hexen HD 2020 (Release)
Ok, so Walpurgis has nothing to do with the crash on starting a level/game (that is: after choosing difficulty).
HexenHD crashes when loaded with GZDoom 4.5.0.
Why?
(I don't want to use your "custom" GZDoom... for reasons...)
