I've been a Dropbox user for several years now, and I even bought their pro service while I could afford it.
And this kind of frustrates me. I like to link to files (namely images) directly without any annoying 'wrapper' pages.
While I have to do similar with Google Drive, at least it's always been like that consistantly. And it can preview more files than Dropbox.
Oh and the security breach in 2012-2013 that affected Dropbox and only recently has been brought to light as being significantly worse than initially reported scares me.
I have since started using Google Drive and imgur because of this as of today. It sucks, but Dropbox just lost me as a user.

Re: PSA: Regarding Mods and Resources Hosted on Dropbox
The reason Google Drive uses "wrapper" pages instead of direct file links is that you can move the file around while not breaking access for people with the link. I can share a mod in my "/Misc Files/mods/Doom/" folder, but if I decide to reorganize it to "/Games/Doom/Mods/" it won't cause a 404. Other reasons: It keeps people from seeing the internal structure of your Drive, so it's more security/privacy-oriented, and it also discourages using it for mass, high-bandwidth indiscriminate file hosting like music or image dumps.

Google drive is what I stick with. For some reason, Dropbox is just so damn slow for me. Not to mention the limits...

It's more consistent too. And can preview ogg files unlike Dropbox.Caligari87 wrote:The reason Google Drive uses "wrapper" pages instead of direct file links is that you can move the file around while not breaking access for people with the link.

I'm always open to hosting stuff for people on my server too.

It wouldn't be too hard to find some sort of free unix shell service that provides webspace and host from there.
