Yes, I agree that a translucent, sloped 3D floor would be ideal. However, given the GZDooM limitation regarding translucency of sloped 3D sectors, a translucent model would work as a suitable alternative.NeuralStunner wrote:Too bad you can't use a translucent, sloped 3D floor instead.

"force32bit" in HIRESTEX,Enjay wrote:Perhaps what you are thinking of is varying levels of translucency from the skin graphic which isn't supported in GZDoom.
"RenderStyle CopyAlpha" in TEXTURES.

Are you sure this works? I don't think the renderer supports model skins with >1 bit alpha. Also, I've never heard of this "force32bit" thing in HIRESTEX (isn't that a deprecated version of TEXTURES anyway?).Minigunner wrote: "force32bit" in HIRESTEX,

As I recall there tend to be visual glitches, but maybe that only applies where you're changing the alpha dynamically.Enjay wrote:Models can have translucency - if the underlying actor is translucent the model will be shown accordingly.

Re: [Request] Model for street lamp & for sloped glass
I'm in search of a model for a modern-style street lamp, preferably an MD2 or MD3. I've already checked out BlackRayne Studios and Sitters Electronics, but couldn't find what I need. Also, I'd like to request a custom model: a rectangular section of sloped glass, measuring 64 units x 32 units with a thickness of 4 units, angled at 45 degrees from horizontal. By the way, Admiral Up Lighter, if you happen to read this, could you create something similar to the glass models you made for the SUV in Paranoid? Thanks a bunch!

Paranoiac has both the models you're looking for. Let me know if you still need them and I'll extract them and send them to you. (I just saw this post today.)
[NOTE 1: The sloped glass is actually 64 x 64, but the model can be modified to make it 64 x 32]
[NOTE 2: The sloped glass model is different from the one used for the SUV in Paranoid. It's used as a roof in a "sun-room" in one or two maps.]
