I have a really great idea for a project... it's a very simple one but it's not at the same time... a Wolfenstein based game.
As BJ Blacowicz, you infiltrate a top secret Nazi stronghold in Potsdam to eliminate another cabinet of high ranking Nazi officers known as the Gottfaust, or Fist Of God. As you progress you move through the levels starting at the front gate and through passage ways into the central area. From there you can travel to four other locations where there is a set of catacombs to traverse in search of each evildoer. As you move from each area to the next you can travel between other areas by returning to the surface and going through that specific exit. You must have the keys of four of the Gottfaust from these locations each with an intense boss battles. Once you have all four you can enter the final area and face down the leader of the Gottfaust and destroy him, and then escape without dying at the last second now that you've taken out another part of the Reich and really pissed the Nazis off.
I keep imagining key scenes for this like BJ having to snipe out the first two guards and guard dogs with a sniper rifle in a guard tower, a tank knocking over a wall and opening fire on BJ until he can destroy it, weaponless guards running away in fear until they find something to attack back with, dog kennels filled with vicious dogs, a high flying entrance out of an airplane and a speedy through the woods exit on foot whilist avoiding the hundreds of nazis searching for you while remaining weaponless to run faster so you can get to your ride out of Germany and into Soviet Russia.
a strategy game set in doom universe with UAC/Marines and Hell as playable factions... could be strategy/sim/fps/rpg like Dungeon Keeper back then no idea how doable that is, honestly.
There are already a couple of Doom RTS floating around. I forget their names, but there are threads for them on these very forums.
The closest commercial RTS to what I personally think a Doom RTS should be like is Dawn of War. Ruined cities, hellish environments, demons, marines, etc .
I've had an idea about map racing- basicly you have special map designed in a racetrack format, either a circuit or not, and players would race to finish to the end...Would have special powerups and shit to make them go faster...who knows...
I actually had the same idea as Fuzzball, except I decided not to do it when I heard of Zoom. The main difference is that mine was going to be singleplayer, and you would have to race the clock while avoiding hazards and such.
You know what i'm just gonna come clean with this one because i'm slowly getting more tempted to make it.
Another horror wad. But not just "omg one enemy trying to kill me", instead it will play out much more arcade and linear. You'll enter a room, you'll fight some enemies, and then the next room opens up to you. And if you don't hurry the room starts filling up with water. Why water you ask? Well the place i'm setting this is in the sea. The story will be you were on a ship which happened to be passing the Bermuda triangle. You wake up in the lower part of the ship with everyone missing and various spirits, monsters and other gory incarnations trying to kill you.
I've always wanted to make a BomberMan mod for ZDoom. Unfortunately, I don't like to use cameras because there is nothing stopping the player from simply pressing F12 and making everything seem screwy. (I actually pressed F12 to cheat on PogoStick)
I keep wanting to remake that old Requim map with the sewers near the start of the megawad, bringing it up to date with 3d floors, new monsters and sounds and a gothic theme, but I can't be bothered
