The train looks good to me for the most part. A few things that I'd change:

- The slime*-based grayish metal bars on the top and bottom of the inner walls of the train (above and below the big bar of tekgren) are cut off by the floor and ceiling; if my eyes are judging the sizes correctly it should work out perfectly if you made a custom version of that texture that used the 16-tall versions of the gray metal bars, instead of the taller ones, so they fit nicely to the height of the sector instead of going into the floor/ceiling. The same goes for the 16-tall border on the top of the train.

- The step5 border on the ceiling lights in shot 1 could have its ceiling moved up a few units so that the strip of tan lights (or whatever the heck those things are supposed to be) isn't vertically cut off midway.

- I can tell too easily that the railings that surround the train are flat. (I mean, of course they're flat, but it shouldn't be that obvious.) Possible ways of dealing with this are curving their corners a bit, and/or adding 8x8 solid raised-floor poles at its ends and/or corners so that you can't see its paper-thin edges. Or something else. I dunno :P

Great work again, your overall style reminds me a lot of RTC-3057.

And I think either the stone or marble would be best. A wooden table could work, but probably not using Doom's wood textures...they're not very fitting for this, and there's also the fact that we're all too used to seeing them in gothic/demonic settings, so they stick out and don't look right.

I thought that screenshot looked pretty good myself. I've actually seen "tables" that look like that, low blocky things that you can't put your feet under that you have to stoop forward to use your laptop on.

Lower them to about the same height as the seats (maybe a unit or two lower) and it'll look more plausible.

EDIT: Oh, hey, more posts below what I quoted! :O

My vote's on marble because it looks kinda like a tablecloth and the warm brown-pink matches the red and brown on the chairs. But for the little tables I'd still rather go with the small coffee-table look.

Wow, the screenshots look really cool. These are the kind of maps I want to make some day. :)

Stone marble I think fits the best.

This WAD sounds interesting especially with the screenshots shown. Can't wait to play this. :D

Good idea on the former, hadn't thought of that. The latter was actually done intentionally because it gives it a more squared look. I might try the same thing with that texture to see how it turns out...

I always figured they were tiles or something.

Duly noted. I actually have poles at the gaps where the player steps up to the top platform. Don't know why I didn't think to do it by the train, too (or maybe I just forgot).

Thanks. Actually, the first room I built for this project (at the time I was just planning on making a small single level to get me back into the groove after a bit of a mapping funk) was RTC-inspired, and the rest just sort of followed to mesh with that theme. It's definitely the biggest inspiration behind this project, methinks. :)

I think I may go with the marble texturing on the tables. The stone seems to blend well with the floor on the first level, but on the second level, where the floor is carpeted, it doesn't mesh.

I like your coffee table idea, Vaecrius. Should add more variety, too. Though I'm going to change the side textures because it makes them look fake, I think. Well more fake than they are, anyway. :p
