Edit: Those list projects I am working on. Whoops, shoulda read the first post.
The Random Adventures of Maru!: a jokewad based off the comic series TRAOM. Two things stop me- lack of working knowledge of Strife dialogs and lack of appropriate sprites. Getting Maru to actually help me make it would be awesome, but until she can provide the voices and sprites of the various charcters, there's not much hope of this getting off the ground.

You need a Snake Launcher that launches Solid Snake at people. And then he DIES on impact. Just for kicks, use the Snake's Revenge sprite.wildweasel wrote:Ridiculous Weapons - A weapon mod in which names can be deceiving. A chaingun that actually shoots chain links at enemies, a sniper rifle that creates snipers (which carry sniper rifles that create more snipers), and the BFG9000 (BFG stands for Big Fat Gorilla). I just don't have enough good ideas to make this work, and my brain doesn't work the right way to do something completely balls-to-the-wall insane like Xaser used to do.

Hey, will this work? I don't remember where I found it. I'd love to see them in Doom!Cutmanmike wrote:Here's another I should mention incase anyone knows how cause I really want to do it:
A Disruptor weapons pack. I think Enjay is the only one here who knows what it is but basicly it's a psx fps game that came out shortly after doom did. It had high tech badass weapons which were kinda balanced and all looked cool. I'd love to have them in zdoom, but I have no idea how to rip them. First of all it's extremely hard to find a blank wall somewhere which would make it easy to cout out the frames, and secondly the gun flashes are translucent.
The sounds are easy to rip but the graphics... I just don't know how i'm going to do it.

If anyone wants to try and get an idea of what the weapons and the rest of the game were like, do a YouTube search for disruptor psx and you'll find a few vids.

Hmmm...interesting weapons and graphics...weapons would be great in Doom...
We have to find good ripped sprites from the game...but how?
Maybe trying to open the PSX gamefiles could help...can we do it?

Some sprites are cut-off...they're unuseable...

The graphics are fine. Open them in a new tab. The forum just cuts the image off.

Okay! They're fine, you're right!
But how about the projectiles, bolts and fire of the weapons? We don't have them!

Yeah, you're right... Short of opening the data files (which I have no idea how to do, let alone a copy of the game with which to do it), maybe the best thing would be to take some existing projectile sprites and recolor them? There are a lot of generic 'energy' projectile sprites around that could work.
