Look at the [wiki]cluster definition[/wiki], the EnterText/ExitText properties are what cause the textscreen intermissions.

Doom II maps are spread between four clusters:
cluster 5 for maps 1 to 6
cluster 6 for maps 7 to 11
cluster 7 for maps 12 to 20
cluster 8 for maps 21 to 30
(The secret maps are each their own cluster, too: 9 for MAP31 and 10 for MAP32. Clusters 1 to 4 are for the Ultimate Doom episodes.)

So what happens if you redefine all the Doom II maps to be in the same cluster? No text screen anymore. Or if each map gets its own unique cluster? Text screen between each map.

See https://github.com/coelckers/gzdoom/blo ... /doom2.txt for a reference to Doom II MAPINFO.
