A New code pointer

Post by chaoscentral »

We really need a new code pointer in decorate so we can call console commands from a weapon or something. This is probably beyond the scope of the inofficial build, but we should have something along the lines of

A_Console("console comand")

whic sends out the command and inputs it into the console... Just think of the possibilities with this...

we need a command in decorate A_Console("action")

Explains how it came up.

We need it, seriously, if it can be added into the inofficial/unofficial build, then it'd be GREATLY appreciated. Unless there is a workaround or another codepointer or something else along those lines...

Can't you use an Archvile flag in a weapon to ressurect monsters?

No, what I want to use it for is my RPG implementation, a DEATH script that checks to see if the player has a Phoenix Down in their inventory, and if there is, use the inventory item and resurrect the player.

I remember someone asking about this a long time ago, and there was some talk about malicious scripts -- not so much that they could bork your computer, but they could mess with your configs and stuff via the console commands. A paranoid notion to be sure, but hey.

If you wanted to test it you could just copy your config file to another directory and overwrite it when done.

Well make "Unbind all" inaccessable.
