Help! Fog effect that worked in 2.1.1 not working in 3.1.0a.

Actually, I was going to bring this up with you sooner or later, but I consider this critical enough to do a point release. (Note that the commit that follows it reverts the Y-flip - this was after I talked w/ dpJudas about it - only the color correction part of it was important) I was going to offer to prepare it for you, to save you the trouble, with possibly some of the other bugfixes that ended up in repo since the last release.
