I've always wanted to make my own "version 2" of COMPWERD and COMPTALL textures, so here they are, with a METAL, METAL2, GRAY, SHAWN and TEKGREEN variants as well.
Unlike my previous posts, these are in Doom Palette.

I saw Adrian Carmack actually did a large amount of Doom's textures on paper with colored pencils, so I gave texturing with pastels a shot and the results are pretty decent, what I did is inspired by the BROWN1 and STARTAN textures.

Edit: 4/21/24
Reworked the texture based off of genuine stitches I got to the fingers.

Transparent mask made expressly for putting over the patch HELL6_3.

Recently I made this long sky texture, à la TNT Evilution:

Some sky edits I made using abandoned Id software assets.

I have posted these on doomworld, but I've figured giving a more interesting doom forum a try.

I like that desert scenery, even though it presumably looks creepy in use as a sky since it is mostly ground and shouldn't appear fixed in place nor above you, but sometimes creepy is good. Has anybody made a level which specifically uses the original version or a variant of it?

I don't think anybody has used the original variant. It was originally just the desert with some clouds of a similar tan/brown color. The edit I made also raised the viewpoint to improve the perspective.

The only use of it I've seen is in doom delta by DrPyspy, which is more of a gameplay mod than a level set. I don't think the original texture has much use as a fully visible sky either, since the amount of literal ground in the foregound made it offputting.

Ohhh yes I see the difference now! I knew the mountains were new but didn't realize the ground moved.
Still I think that could work, maybe, as part of a tall sky, and the full sand part only appears below horizon level.

Gothic windows made from scratch in GIMP. I segmented the glass and frame for translucency in Boom and UDMF
