While I don't come this way too often any more I couldn't not pass this one on, this person's DA gallery is a treasure trove of high-res textures offered on CC-BY terms (just give credit, basically). I think a lot of them could look great in a high-res mod or as a basis to make more Doom-scaled textures, especially for Heretic/Hexen/Quake/otherwise medieval type environments.
