[Released][Zdoom]E1M8:remake, my style

If I may, using the video as reference:

0:48 - Not sure why, but for some reason all the powerups bothers me. I think it's the thought of going around and having to collect all of them. Maybe I'm being too judgemental because I haven't actually played or built a level in...over a year.
1:00 - The grey rivet texture looks kinda repetitive for the floor. The same with the elevator flat--I know that's the standard elevator flat and all, I just dunno if it looks so good spread out over such a wide area.
2:00 - The same with the brown rivet textures going down the pit. Part of me also thinks this pit is kinda...not emphasized enough. The bridge is excellent, but the small space it's in kind of defeats the purpose of it being there, visually. Y'know? If the pit was wider or something, I think the area would look better.
2:31 - Maybe it's just me, but these textures kind of look misaligned. I know they aren't, as it's soon shown, but it still looks that way initially. Maybe put a rivet border around where the curve is?
2:44 - This elevator ride is kind of...boring. Is it possible to spawn some monsters in it? Or, perhaps even better, code it up so that monsters only spawn the second time you use the elevator--since you appear to go right back up it? I do like how the elevator appears to quake and rumble as it goes down, giving a definite feel of broken-down ness and fear to Doom's normally ultra-smooth space elevators.

Other than that, it looks really good! And the things I mentioned are just itty bitty nitpick things anyway that the kind of obsessive-compulsive person I am tends to generate.

Thx for the critics, I will try and deal with these small problems acording to my possibilities(e.g:For the elevator, I do not know how to code anything alike since my scripting skills arent perfect, though I can still make the lift faster).
As for the bridge part, I will indeed make the gap wider, my only goal with this bridge was just putting it in to make the place look nicer, i didn't realy realise the widthness of the gap at first but now that you mention it, I may give it a second look ;)
I atend to finish the map in middle-end of march the sooner, but I might take more time Because of testing and stuff so I'd say, expect the map to be officialy released in april-may 2010 and if not well it will be released this year anyway ;)

Hey its Nova again.

Got around to playing this and finally decided to respond. I gotta say i was thoroughly enjoyed this map.
It definatly was beautiful and the added areas and port features really made this defined well but yet still reminiscent
to E1M8. I liked all the baron battles and i definatly wasn't expecting the cybruisers. It was a little easy overall although
i almost died a few times. The final battles seemed too easy (I only got smacked once by a cybruiser missle when i focused
on a caco) but i know the bosses by heart and one who doesn't will prolly have trouble. Overall i would say it is perfect (i agree
the end part with the infinite bullets was pointless when you get the same with rockets) and i really hope you remake the other
boss fights as well.

Awsome im glad to see that your working on the next boss levels!

I know there isnt much to see so far (and you were right about unrecognizable)
but it still looks very pretty. I really like the background for screenie #3, looks very
pretty and more fitting than the original e2m8 sky did. The lighting effects
are pretty as well. Really looking forward to the expansions and the boss fight(s)
in this level. Hoping to maybe finally see the dark cardinal used heh.
