I have Zdoom Launcher installed on my computer. How do I go about starting KDiZD with Zdoom Launcher?

I think since KDiZD is based on regular Doom, you have to select doom.wad (Doom/Ultimate Doom, NOT Doom II!) as IWAD, then select the KDiZD zipfile as additional file. It should work fine.
